New Release Date For Live-Action Dragonball Movie

It has been reported that the live action Dragonball movie scheduled for August 15, 2008, has now been pushed back to April 3, 2009. Twentieth Century Fox has delayed the release due to movies such as -- The International, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Tropic Thunder and Wild Child -- All scheduled to open on Dragonball's original release date, August 15.

of course its not going to be exactly like the anime dbz. they're trying to market it to the masses. i'm personally going to see it, why not? im not really expecting it to be amazing but i'm still looking forward to it.

Your wrong sir, because the whole storyline as nothing to do with Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z. There just using characters from both shows.

This will be a joke we will all laugh about years later, after we've overcome the rage.
I love the IGN article for the movie, which clearly is sugar-coating the turd this film will be (I loved the quote from Bulma's actress' page, stating she's listening to harder music, like "Lincoln Park," to get into character). This movie will be a farce, and the worst part is that it will be all of our faults when a sequel is made, because no matter how terrible it's going to be, we're all going to see it anyways. Extra time will not make this movie any less crappy.

Well I think it''ll be something like Power Rangers, but in 21st century so it's going to hurt ^.^ + no SSj and no Vegeta :C But still I want to watch it if there is possibility ^.-

Well, technically it IS a cartoon. Or at least that was the English word for it the last time I checked.

On topic: I still like the original Dragon Ball series. It was interesting and amusing but there's no way it could work just as well in live action format, so I'm not watching this movie even if someone pays me for it.

Well alot of people keep thinking this is gunna be DBZ, but its really just gunna be Dragonball. which was the prequel to DBZ. I for one cant wait to see this :D

It was the first I had heard of it as well. So far, I haven't found much on it. But then again, I'm not exactly interested enough to be looking very hard xD I have a feeling though, it's going to be animated like the series.

The Clone Wars is going to be an animated series, using an CG-style. the pilot of the series will be broadcasted in cinema.

@topic: funny, how they are waiting for a crappy movie line-up in order to make some income. a live action dragon ball movie. phew, i just can't imagine a green painted james marsters shooting ki-blasts. :P

I can't remember who said it here, but they didn't finished the movie, and they didn't worked a year on it. They started shooting in October '07, and they're still shooting.

How much I hate the fact that they're still going to release a Live-Action movie of DBZ, I hate it more that there's no Krillin in it. How can you make DBZ-stuff without Krillin in it? Instead we get this guy who's a nerd and becomes Goku's new best friend.

But well, from all the pictures I saw and the interviews.. I hate the movie and the actors, they're all saying DB/DBZ was the best cartoon, and they were all fans of it when they were kids. A real fan would never call it a cartoon.. cuz it ISN'T. Idiots~

Probably going to watch it anyway's.. just to see how messed up it is. XD

same here...i'll still end up watching it mostly for nostalgia reasons...i still remember the dbz days on cartoon network...good times...i just hope the movie doesn't drag like the frieza against super saiyan goku fight on namek where it lasted like 20 episodes...

i can picture 4channers yelling "it's over 9000!" in the theaters though...

Prepare to be disappointed.

Goku is actually some white guy who gets bullied at school. They also scrapped SS so it'll probably be some ordinary kung fu movie.
