Main Cast Announced for 'Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun' TV Anime

The official website for Lerche's Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun announced the main cast and revealed a new key visual and promotional video on Saturday. The 12-episode series will air on TBS on January 10, followed by Sun TV, CBC, and BS-TBS.

Cast
Hanako-kun: Megumi Ogata (Angel Beats!)
Nene Yashiro: Akari Kitou (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
Kou Minamoto: Shoya Chiba (Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara)

A pre-screening event, where the main cast will make an appearance, will take place at the Grand Cinema Sunshine in Tokyo on December 29.

Director Masaomi Andou (Gakkougurashi!) is helming the series, which uses character designs by Mayuka Itou (Fw:Hamatora). Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) is handling the series composition and is penning the scripts.

Trailer looks amazing!!! Megumi as Hanako is the best thing about this!!!! Her performance in the trailer gave me goosebumps

Honestly, I loved the manga to pieces and at first when I saw Lerche was the studio adapting it I kinda didn't get my hopes too high, but the preview has definitely spiked my interests by 1000%, I'm not too worried about them keeping to the series structure especially considering who is in charge of that, I guess I'm more worried about it stylistically as well as the animation, it's never really been Lerche's strong point.

But I have hope :wheeze:

Ogata as Hanako is a godsend. Considering the person that'll do the series composition, I have faith in this adaptation.

i'm kinda hyped for this adaptation

romance subplot with a cute/shy/innocent female lead is an insta watch for me
also Lerche is a decent studio, they did a good job in Kanata no Astra
