An announcement video posted by Trimega Institute on Tuesday has revealed that Ranpo Edogawa's Oshie to Tabi suru Otoko novel will get an anime adaptation, which will be shown in an exhibit (Art Exhibition that Travels with Glasses) at Aomori Museum, Shizuoka Museum, and Ishimi Museum in Shimane Prefecture from July 2018 to January 2019.

Synopsis
The narrator meets a matured man with glasses, who has an illustration of an old man wearing suit and a young lady wearing kimono. He then starts to talk about the story of the illustration, which happened around 35 years ago when his older brother was 25 years old. He too, wore glasses, went to Asakusa Twelfth Floor (now Ryouunkaku), and met a lady who he had a crush. The lady turned out to be Oshie, which is a classic 3D art made out of cloth and Japanese traditional paper. The matured man then told the narrator about his imagination on how he would take his brother and the lady (the couple) to wherever, though the lady doesn't age while his brother did. He got embarrassed talking about it and said he would get the illustration a rest. When he got the illustration into the futon, it seemed like the narrator saw the lady move as if she smiled and greeted to him.

So another Edogawa work being adapted huh.

Well, I'll probably take a peak on it but I KINDA enjoyed Ranpo Kitan? Idk. I need to give it a rewatch since I'm more like do I like it or dislike it? Lol. This is one of those series where I'm like leaning between.

Does this have a hint of horror or psychological stuff in it? If so, that would make it more interesting.

Not really. There is a handful of Novel-to-anime adaptation done that are decent (not counting LN, though most of them are bad).

@NG_Calen The duration hasn't revealed yet, but it's exclusively streamed via exhibition, so probably special?

Neither. The announcement PV doesn't indicate any studio.

well if it's neither TV or Movie. Is it an OVA, an ONA, or a Special

Isn't easy to just write that a narrator and a man talks about the past of an illustration and then the illustarion seems to come to life?
If you understand the synopsis (because it seems like that's the summary of what I wrote, which is also an English summary from that I got, meaning it's a lot longer from the original synopsis), then it's fine, but the main points are glasses (both brothers wear glasses, which the exhibition's theme is about) and Oshie, which is a traditional Japanese art, that moves.

I'm fairly confident that a good adaptation of Edogawa novels can't exist in this universe.

But hey, being bad can't stop me from watching it.
(i'm looking at you Ranpo Kitan)
