Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward January 2018 issue (pictured), which will ship on November 24, reveals that Norimitsu Kaihou and Sadoru Chiba's Gakkougurashi! will receive a live-action film. The series, which is currently on hiatus, is set to resume in the magazine's February issue on December 22.

Gakkougurashi! started its serialization in May 2012, and currently has eight compiled volumes. A TV anime adaptation produced by Lerche aired for 12 episodes in Summer 2015, with a simulcast by Crunchyroll. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North American distribution, and shipped the Blu-ray & DVD this June, in addition to a premium edition on September 5.

Japan : LIVE ACTION FILM

Seriously though its gonna be

"A cute girl with autism is stuck in school with her depressed friends doing cute things with the zombie apocalypse happening"

I mean, if they followed how the first season went minus all the cute bits that feel like filler then it could turn into a promising live action. But it may lead to being another generic zombie apocalypse film.

I'd really like more Gakkougurashi especially with the manga on hiatus and no hope of season 2. But a live action film feels meh. It's like when you're hungry and think about having nutella toast but instead you get buttered toast; You don't really care what you get but if it's not something you expected then you'd feel disappointed

Gakkougurashi seems like it'd honestly make a pretty cool live-action. I wonder how they'll do it...

I know live action movies don’t have the best reputation but i don’t care, I’m still interested to see this when it’ll come out. As a big gg fan, I’m definitely looking forward to see how that’ll turn out. It’s the perfect occasion for them to present the story on a darker point of view rather than a cute and moe one like the anime mostly did.

Can we stop making live-actions? like seriously they're horrible just make a second season or a spin-off not this shit.

Live action and anime studio didn't handle same stuff , so s2 never happen unless anime studio want to adapt season 2

Argh :(
I hope this series will get 2nd Season, not LA :'(

this may lead to a season two. if you observe closely, last august's end of the last chapter after the hiatus may be the span of season two. And this movie may be a turning point for the profit of making the anime another season.. im still positive and so as you all fans out there!

The anime itself wasn't that great, in my opinion. It was a bit too reliant on the shock factor for me, which has been done to death in other moe anime. I don't see how this will translate over particularly well to live action, since the moe horror is the main draw in for most folk, and that's difficult to replicate among real human beings.

Well, i give this anime a ten. This live action will be not good for commonly 60-120 min film because mostlikely they will only use and rushed the main plot.
The anime is a 10 because the pace and balancene of the seriousness and chillness.

Nope. Never. Unacceptable. Those 3D girls would just ruin the "cute girls doing cute things in the middle of a zombie apocalypse" thing.

I would rather have a second season... sigh.

:/

They're giving us a live-action adaptation that nobody was asking for. A second season of the anime would have been a much better choice instead.. smh

It was terrible as an anime, will be worse in live-action.

You know, Japan. You've got tons of manga out there that actually will translate into live-action properly. Remember Battle Royale? Rurouni Kenshin? Go that route. Hell, I'll give you some examples; Kimi no Knife, Working!!, Akumetsu, Confession, Ghost Hunt, etc. and that's just from the little I've read.

Lol, Japan need to calm their tits.
Why doesn't my favorite manga: Homunculus get a live action adaptation instead of this?

Wot. This might be good

REALLY BRO.

I'M TRIGGERED.

They're going to give us a live action, I have no idea how that's going to work.
but NOT A SEASON 2?

I have read all the manga volumes that are published currently and the ones that will be published, and I want a season 2 :(

hmm... if it is anime. 'cute girl do cute thing' is still work...
but if it becomes Live action with actor and stuff, it will cringe af...

i don't know, i'm not real fans of live action stuff...

Kakegurui and now this?

Nippon, you must stop it...

Nov 22, 2017 2:46 PM by Detective1412

A big appeal for gakkougurashi was the moe aesthetic and combining that with the whole apocalyptic setting which countered that. While I wouldn't say the show did a wholesome job at that, a live-action series doesn't seem like it would do any better. Plus with the current history of live-action anime adaptations and the whole stigma against 3D in general especially for a cutesy series like this, I can't help but expect this to flop really hard.

just don't, i've beg ya......

stop ruining good anime (my opinion) with real-live thing

i can imagine the results right now
