TV Anime 'New Game!' to Receive Second Season

It was announced at NEW GAME! Fan Event ~Next Level~, which was held today, that New Game! will receive a second season. More information about the anime will be announced at a later date.

New Game! is a 4-koma slice-of-life comedy manga that has been serialized under Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine since January 2013 with five compiled volumes released so far. The fifth volume is a spin-off prequel that was released along with the fourth volume on July 27, 2016. A TV anime adaptation by studio Doga Kobo aired in Summer 2016 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. An unaired episode is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2017 as a special for those who collected all six volumes of the BD and DVDs. A phrase from the series, "Kyou mo Ichinichi Ganbaru Zoi!" ("Let's Try Our Best Today, too!") received the Bronze Prize in the 2016 Anime Popular Phrase Awards.

It's unlikely, because New Game+ is an English term. The equivalent term in Japanese is Tsuyokute New Game, essentially "stronger, new game". It's possible that they might go with that, though they'll probably keep it simple and just add a 2 or a subtitle instead.

I would like to se second seasons for Umaru-chan and Nozaki-kun as well, but I also immensely enjoyed New Game so I'm not going to try and trivialize it's second season announcement, because I'm definitely excited.
