This year's eighth issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine will reveal on Wednesday that Miki Yoshikawa's gender bender manga Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) will end after five chapters.

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo began its serialization in Weekly Shounen Magazine in February 2012 and currently has 25 volumes in print. The 26th volume will go on sale on December 16. In August 2011, the manga received a live-action TV series. In 2013, studio LIDENFILMS adapted the manga as a short ONA. Two OVA episodes were also bundled with the 14th and 15th volume in December 2014 and May 2015, respectively, and in Spring 2015, it received a 12-episode TV anime adaptation. Kodansha Comics USA has been publishing the manga in print in English since March 2015. The 12th volume was recently released on January 10 while the 13th volume will be out on April 4.

Finally! It was sad to see such a great and fun Manga going downhill, but it is good to see the author decided to end it before going full Naruto..

SkyDrop, are you me?! I think we had the same ideas at the same time!

Ha! Just checked. 163 is when I dropped!

I remember this that the anime first episode really hooked me to read this manga(since people have been telling that manga skipped alot).

I was enjoying the manga until somewhere around chapter 88-100(not sure but it has to be before 100), the whole plot got restarted for stupid reason and yeah then red upto chapter 163 and dropped.

It is agreeable for anyone that the start was really solid and greatly planned. But however as it continued, things(esp the old characters) was getting dull and yeah its became like the author making the story without any plan.

This was happened to be my second manga read, and nice to know its ending.

Because the author drag this manga by obviously repeating the same formula over and over for every major arc. Here's a breakdown of that formula:

This formula got repeated like 3-4x already. Now the author is kind of doing it again on this last arc. Not just that, as a long time reader, I'm sad to also know that the author fucked up her own continuity of the story by pulling bulshit on the recent chapter.

You forgot an important point of that formula.

Oh yeah, that formula stays true in the last arc.

Is it worth reading now ? The anime ended with half-ass relationship between Shiraishi and Yamada.
Is there any developments happened in the manga ?
And If I'm not mistaken I think the body switching has ended, then what is the story next ? Thanks
Don't bother, what happens in the following arcs is basically "find 7 witches and get memories back" while there is atleast some romantic development between Shiraishi and Yamada, the story itself is repetetive as damn hell.

Heard lots about repetitiveness too. If you say so I won't bother. Thanks

Is this comparable to Nisekoi?
Because I didn't really enjoy Nisekoi, and these story and characters give me similar vibes.

I liked the anime series and I haven't read the manga, however can anyone inform me why did the manga got dragged up? If nobody minds this... just curious since a lot of people on my end said that they didn't wanted an S2 of the anime because of the manga dragging its own plot for too long (at least when I said it xD)

Damn, that really sounds rather bad honestly o.o because basically... Hmm, I think it's also a contradiction to the previous ones. x-x that's pretty messed up... and it seems like it, at least the author repeating the same formula again and again... that's not fun.

Haven't watch the anime, but when I read the manga years ago, I thought it wouldn't and couldn't have lasted this long, and it shouldn't have. This should serve as a reminder for the author to not drag series out, I hope. That said, Yankee kun to Megane chan anime adaptation when?

[SPOILER INCLUDED, READ ON YOUR OWN RISK!]

Actually both sad and happy about it. It's great that the series end here with a nice and great ending were Urara and Yamada can go happy as a couple to collage. It's weird if new witches appears when the main protagonist isn't at the school anymore. So I am glad the author doesn't continue the story when they start on college. Because as it were mentioned earlier in the manga, the witch power is something that only exist at that high school. So it would be weird if the story would continue at college too.

Now we have found out, in the recent chapter, that Shiraishi is the origin to the powers, we got to know the big mystery too. Why and for what purpose does Yamada have the copy power? From the moment he mentioned it early in the manga, this mystery question have been circulating in my head ever since.

But as every other great anime/manga series it's always sad with an ending and a departure from a series. I have been following this manga since 2015, but I bet there are fans from far beyond. So yeah, it's good but at them same time very sad with this news. :( :)

This was long overdue. Not that I hate the series or anything but it just got really boring and repetitive to the point that I had to take a break from it....hopefully it ends on a good note.

Was a decent manga, but glad she knows it's about time for it to end. Hope to see another series from her in the future.

It should have ended 100 + chapters ago.
