During Friday's New York Comic Con, VIZ Media announced that it has licensed the 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime. The series will be released on both Blu-ray and DVD, and the company will be producing an English dub. Hunter x Hunter (2011) is the second TV adaptation of the ongoing manga series, and it ended in Japan last year with 148 episodes.

Viz Media also announced the acquisition of six new manga titles during their panel. This included the following original manga series which have recently been adapted to TV anime: Haruichi Furudate's Haikyuu!!, Tadatoshi Fujimaki's Kuroko no Basket, and Mizuho Kusanagi's Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn).

In addition to these works, the publishing company also announced the following new titles:
  • Totsuzen desu ga, Ashita Kekkon Shimasu (Everyone's Getting Married)
The josei romance manga by Izumi Miyazono focuses on a talented woman named Asuka. She works hard at her real estate job, but her true dream is to get married and be a housewife. Her boyfriend, who has been with her for 5 years, suddenly breaks up their relationship. The manga has been serialized in Petit Comic since April 2014. VIZ will be releasing it in Summer 2016.

  • 7th Garden
7th Garden is a supernatural shounen by Mitsu Izumi. It features a gardener who serves at a manor and accidentally awakens a female demon. She offers the gardener a choice: become her servant or have his garden destroyed. The manga is currently ongoing in Jump SQ magazine. VIZ will also be releasing this title in Summer 2016.

  • Black Clover
Black Clover by Yuuki Tabata is an action shounen about two boys who were abandoned in the same church. They each promised to become the next Emperor Magus despite their differences. Yuno can control magic, while Asta cannot. The manga has been serialized since February 2015 in Weekly Shounen Jump. VIZ Media has already serialized chapters of the manga in its digital Weekly Shounen Jump line-up, and will be releasing this title in volumes beginning Summer 2016.

I'm surprised it's taken Haikyuu that long to get licensed though.

I'm surprised that sports manga is even translated in the US

Still no K Project manga or LNs people are missing out on a lot of development without them.

Viz is well known to drop the long vowel in Japanese .

The title is Haikyu!! instead of Haikyuu!!

HxH '11 dub, AND Kuroko? I'm game (no pun intended).

I'm pretty sure that the DVD and Blu-ray releases of HxH will include the original Japanese version with subtitles. As for the English voices, VIZ will most likely replace the entire Blue Water cast with a new one from either Bang Zoom or Studiopolis...which is just as well, since most of the original English VAs didn't do so hot (and that is putting it VERY lightly).

I'm hopeful the dub will air on toonami, i think the series could get a ton of popularity in the west.

I'm curious who will voice Hisoka in the dubbed version of HxH. Apart from that, I can't say I am really excited.
I'm placing my bets on Vic Mignogna

they need to keep the 1999 voice actor or I'm boycotting Viz

I'm so excited to own Haikyuu!! I have the anime on DVD and it's just ... it's so good ... I almost cried when Viz announced they'd licensed the manga.

The Hunter x Hunter (2011) blu-rays will be day 1 with expedited shipping purchases from me!
Dub quality won't affect me at all since I'll re-watch it in Japanese, but still hoping the dub will be good.

Any idea when the dubs for HxH, Haikyu & Kuroko will be? Can't wait

No date yet for HxH.
Haikyuu is out by Sentai as sub-only sets, so no dub is being planned for it.
Kuroko anime hasn't been licensed.
The only anime from this post is HxH. The rest is manga.
