Seems like a lot of series are being made into movies..RECAP movies o.o. Like Macross frontier is being made into 2 movies too. the first one: recap, and the second one is something else...weird >.> but still cant wait to see how these recap movies come out

I have patience for re-watching series I really like...so I don't mind recaps. ='o
I do it a lot anyway, so I'm used to it. -shrugs-
A retarded fan like myself just can't seem to let go of this habit, I guess. ^^;;

I really, really wish the industry would wisen the fuck up and stop doing this shit. Recaps are incredibly retarded and nobody wants them; why do they keep making them? "This franchise was successful, let's rehash it and try to make more money instead of doing something original!"

I can see it kind of working for old series, do a rehash movie summarising the story numerous years later in HD and all, but not for something that only just recently ended and already meets modern animation standards.

Really, how hard is it to just do an extra story or something at least? Some prequel or side story or little semi sequel story, it doesn't have to be canon if they just want to cash in, but just please don't regurgitate the same old crap. It's stupid.

What this fair lady has said.

A recap? Nobody wants to see a recap, they've already SEEN the series! Unless they're lazy and chose to watch the recap rather than the actual anime (which is not very long at all)

meh, don't need to see it, moving on...

only a recap? damn.

A recap isn't such a terrible thing if it has a new perspective on the original events of the anime. Either way I think a recap is just for the people who didn't watch the whole anime to watch it in one sitting. A recap is a rather effective way to re-air the anime to capture more of an audience or just to keep the anime from fading in peoples minds if later production work for the anime is being done.

I hope it bombs so they learn their lesson.

lol at people surprised that the makers of a successful series want to make more money with it. That's nothing new.

This seems completely unnecessary to me.

Why?
Recap is not needed.

Why all the rage? I'd like to enjoy the two films with people who didn't watch the series. The recap will help those people. Don't let all the rage out of your body everytime you read the word "recap".

I for one don't mind this at all. Hope that despite the general 'ew, recap' reactions, a good group will sub this if it's released as good quality raw.

Agreed, and especially if there really is new perspective of the events, I don't see how it hurts.
Let me guess, you enjoy endless eight right?

Yay, more tension-derailing fat hacker. And a recap, to boot.
