Idol Web Manga 'Million Doll' Gets TV Anime for Summer 2015 [Update 2/10]

It was announced via the March issue of Newtype that an idol anime titled Million Doll will air on TV in Summer 2015. The anime features idol group Itorio from Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and idol otaku Suuko, who uses her own blog to promote the idols. Asahi Production will animate the series and will get the cast through public audition.

Million Doll is a web manga by Ai, who self-identifies as an idol otaku, that is published through the smartphone application GANMA!. It began serialization in December 2013 and has more than 50 chapters published.

I probably won't watch it, but I think that having public auditions is an interesting idea. I hope it leads to a solid cast.

I get the feeling this will be bad, not due to the public audition, I trust that Asahi will find the best girls for the job, my issue is the anime itself, it's handled by a very below average studio notable for shorts.
