Too bad it has become a commercial failure. This is now my favorite Ghibli Movie.

It'll get nominated, of course, but it'll be amazing (maybe even a miracle) if it actually wins anything in the Oscars because of how awfully biased and ignorant they are, especially towards animation. The Annie Awards will show it more respect.

well deserved... its probably my favorite Ghibli movie to date... its very sad to see its unheard of within the community... they really did fuck up the reception for it, hopefully this will give it some recognition ;)

Okay, I need to watch this, it seems so promising. I can't believe I haven't even heard of it before.

Good to hear. Considering the Oscars aren't going to give two shits about it, it's good to know that there are other associations outside of the Annie Awards that still care about quality. It'll probably win something for sure, even though there were other animated films this year that were amazing, so it's got a good competition this year.

Winning for best animation, I honestly was a bit skeptical on the art at first but it grew on me and became quite mesmerizing and perhaps mind blowing in some scenes.

Looking forward to the other results!

I just watched this a few days ago. This is the definition of a work of "art". It was such an amazing movie except that it was a direct ride on the feels train express. The last quarter of the movie just made me...
