Powerpuff Girls Z Latin American Debut in 2008 Confirmed

Papo de Budega confirmed with Cartoon Network that the anime series will debut in Latin America next year. The show's premiere commemorates the 10-year anniversary of the original show's premiere. Names for the girls and titles have also been released. More information is expected to come soon, but no U.S. release date has yet to be released.

Yeah, well if they do the proper english dub, get the originals in... no point going for cheap knock offs...

I think PPGZ is terrible though... I hope it doesn't tarnish the name of anime if or when mainstream TV watchers get a hold of it.

Well, I heard there were plans for a worldwide release, and I always believed it to come by sometime in 2008. There's still plenty of time for an announcement. I just hope its popular enough to reach episode 46. ^_^

Well, maybe they're testing how it will do elsewhere? And maybe it's cheaper than bringing it to the US first? Who knows.

Hm, why does ANN's PPGZ page list some credits for an English cast?

I'm disappointed that there's been no plans to bring it State-side. Has the franchise died over here, or what? :/

I'm a bit surprised it didn't go to the U.S. first, considering the whole franchise started in America, and Japan eventually made their anime out of it.
