Takeshi Obata to Start a New Manga Series

It was announced that mangaka Takeshi Obata will start a new series which will be about a court mystery, titled Kakkyuu Houtei. He will be working with another writer, Nobuderu Enoki, who received JUMP Treasure's new mangaka award in April 2009. The manga will start in the January 2015 issue, which will be released on December 1, 2014.

Interesting. Court mystery from Obata. Unfortunately, I can't stand waiting for ongoing manga, so either I'll have to wait an eternity for the manga to finish, or for some anime to come out.

I'm fine with Ohba not being involved. I realize this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Ohba is very good at writing characters. Obata's a good artist, so I'd be interested in seeing his work with someone else.

Anything by Takeshi Obata is worthy of attention, I guess. We'll see how it turns out.
I guess this also means there won't be a work done by the Death Note/Bakuman pair soon.

Meh, I'd rather hear about the something from Ohba.

The art of Death Note and Bakuman were certainly good, but it's the story that punches you in the face.

Guess Ohba isn't going to be coming out with anything for a while? We'll see. I love Obata's art though. We already know that part is gonna be great.
