Uh... no. I just don't bother with hentai. :)
Never heard a thing about it until I saw the PV for the Spring premiere.
It's not hentai :-)
Enlighten me.
I believe it's very hard to use google and see by yourself what Queen's Blade originally is.
It's started as a combat picture book game based on a rules of the "Lost Worlds" game, originally published in 1983. If you don't have a clue what "combat picture book game" is, just imagine stuff like Dungeons & Dragons miniatures, but with books instead of figures. In this game, players simulate turn-based fighting with books that each represent a character.
Queen's Blade was first published in Japan in 2005. 9 series of books has been released since then, plus supplement books featuring other famous characters from various franchises, such as Dizzy from Guilty Gear, Mai Shiranui from King of Fighters or Iroha from Samurai Spirits.
None of the books feature any actual nudity, btw.
Some other products of Queen's Blade franchise include several manga series, a game for mobile phones, a series of collectible cards, a series of PVC figurines, and even a character dress-up game for PC.
PS: I't really amusing to see someone who rated Boku no Pico a 9 bitching about Queen's Blade.
I apologize for my ignorance. ^^;; I'll look more into it.~
And I looked back on my list, I didn't even realize that I rated Boku no Pico a 9...

Queen's Blade doesn't simply have a decent fanbase, it's probably one of the most popular franchises ever made into anime. Gaming books, manga, collectable cards, figurines, god knows what else. Its fanbase is insanely huge.
For real?
That's news to me...

Queen's Blade ranked #2
WTF?! What's wrong with people, seriously.
Hmm... so you are saying that we should be suprised that queens blade is ranked 2?
The game is fairly well known to begin with than became into a "side-story" manga
http://myanimelist.net/manga.php?id=9062
This isn't a new concept, whole game to manga to anime transition, since it already had a pretty decent fan base before the anime was aired.

And K-On is ranked #1, not really surprising.

If it's the latter, remember that those two dominate the BD sales.

O.o You can't be serious...
Why so serious? (lol)
It's only normal. Knowing how the sales of the Queen's Blade battle books spiked after the first episode aired. And seriously, I think you can expect seeing the blu-rays of Queen's Blade reaching some high numbers.
I knew that was bound to happen in Japan, considering the amount of censors recently after the inital airing, fans of the series would only be able to get the unscensored via DVD/Blu-ray
Despite it being heavily censored in other channels, AT-X airs Queen's Blade uncensored (which is what you can expect to see in the DVDs/Blu-rays).
tl;dr version: It's Japan. Would you see it happening any other way?

Yearly total of DVD/Blu-ray sales
DVD
39,907 Code Geass R2 vol.1
30,239 Macross Frontier vol.1
42,415 Mobile Suit Gundam 00 vol.1
Blu-ray
19,134 Code Geass R2 vol.1
34,742 Macross Frontier vol.1
*8,216 Mobile Suit Gundam 00 vol.1
In any case, those ranks are nothing surprising. Japanese otaku purchase anime DVD/Blu-ray within one or two weeks after the release. So the sales on the fourth week are quite small.

sorry didnt mean to cause much argument it is just really alot of people only talk bad about queen blade because they ONLY know it from the anime and that is all they do not know much of it by anything else like seishi-sama was saying about the game... considering the concept was pretty easy "rock papper scissors" to pick up when play game with character books. I mean i may go on a stretch saying this but think of it more like a mature type yu-gi-oh
