I find it funny that Queen's Blade got more pre-orders than Higashi no Eden.

I wonder when people will learn that Queen's Blade is an extremely popular franchise that existed for years and has millions of fans...and Higashi no Eden is an original anime no one ever heard about before it was actually aired.

It's all because most people are stuck in the little bubble called America and wasn't away of queens blade until it became an anime. Queen's blade fanbase > any original one season anime.

A country with 130 million people only buys about 130 thousand Wall-E DVDs?

It sold at least 10 million copies in the US and A alone. Sure, US movie and all but still.

What's the most sold DVD in Japan of all-time, if anybody knows?

kinda surprised at how high some of the older titles ranked, even if they are gihbli. were they recently re-released or something?

It's just that Ghibli movies keep being bought, also by people who are not 'into anime'. It's like the Disney animations, they are still being sold everywhere so I suppose people also buy them.

Simply there are few new titles this week. Most of the anime DVDs are released at the end of the month, so the DVD rankings at the beginning and in the middle of the month are usually not informative.
Totoro is constantly sold about 1,000 - 1,500 copies a week. It's a good standard for us DVD sales freaks.
