What. I see nothing sexist about this. It's true that if it had JUST the fujoshi/female otaku fanbase it wouldn't have sold as much as it did. Studio Deen always release anime mainly catered towards women (a lot of the time), but their stuff doesn't get that many sales (that I am aware of). It's both men and women contributing that's causing Free! to get such amazing sales, there is no gender above the other.
In other words; Free! would not have sold this much if it had gotten support only from women, nor would it have sold this much if it had been solely men. The fact here is that there are both women and men in the fanbase.

Definitely it was because of the airing of ep.3. And here you can learn about the buying pattern of fans in Japan: There are far more people who would buy a series from the beginning even though the episode they loves is somewhere in the middle. Besides, there is also the possibility that those buyers were between buying and not buying the series and finally made the jump after seeing ep.3, in which case these people would still buy from vol.1.

Meganebu! seems to start around 2000 ranks then kept on dropping to around 18000 ranks then jumped into 200~300 ranks.

Please tell me White Album 2 will sell, please tell me White Album 2 will sell...
If Log Horizon and WA2 will sell well, I'm hoping that Satelight will keep up the quality they've done with both animes to their future titles, because those 2 animes are the ones I look forward to the most.
Hopefully Tatsunoko will get a good break with Gatchaman Crowds, even though I don't really like it. How is it fairing? It's just that Tatsunoko Productions is turning out to be one of my favourite studios out after Yozakura Quartet.
