Renowned anime director Miyazaki Hayao
has made known that he has decided to retire from making feature-length films and that "Kaze Tachinu
" is his last work of its kind. The news was broken by Hoshino Kouji, president of Studio Ghibli, at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, where "Kaze Tachinu" is being screened in the competition section. Miyazaki himself will hold a press conference on September 6th to provide more details about his retirement.
