Mixed-Media Project 'Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road' of Bushiroad Restarted With TV Anime Due Winter 2014

In the fan event "Bushiroad Daisenryaku Happyoukai 2013 (Natsu)", it was announced that TV anime series "Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road" will start airing from fall this year. "Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road" is a mixed-media project started in July 2003 that has inspired related CDs, radio shows, manga, and novels throughout the years. There was an announcement in 2005 for an anime movie, but the plan was later indefinitely suspended. The project's revival was announced at the event called "Fujiroad Card Game Live 2013" held in March. The anime series is the first major initiative after the announcement. Other initiatives including card games will follow.

The plan for the "Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road" anime is said to hold a dear place for Kidani Takaaki, CEO of Fujiroad, as he came up with the name "Bushiroad" for the company he founded in 2007 from this project. The anime will be a joint production effort by Bushiroad, Bandai Visual, Nitroplus, and Kinema Citrus.

EDIT (Nov 06): The format turns out to be a 90 minute TV special not a series and will be broadcast on Dec 31, 2013.

aww man... I was expecting this to be a complete series, kinda disapointed to be honest....

but yeah, a whole 1h and half animation it's not that bad either, kinda reminds me at Pokemon Special: The origin, I just hope it won't feel too rushed... :I

Thats balls I was hoping for a 12 episode series at best, but I guess I should be happy about this seeing how Bushi Road was shelved since 2003. I'm surprised they decided to restart it 10 years later.

So the whole thing is a 90 minute special? A TV series would have been nice but this is fine too. We are still basically getting 4 episodes of anime or maybe it would be better to look at as a 1h 30m movie.

I also wondered if it is just a first episode done in a special format, which is why I kept searching high and low for confirmation whether it is one-off or a start of a series, and I think I found it is really just 90min anime from the akiba-souken article when it said:

I was hoping that it is just "prequel" type and more to come as TV series during Winter 2014 when I read that animate.tv article yesterday, but it seems like this anime is only 90 min.

It turns out that the program from 1900 on Dec 31 is a 3 hour special but only 90 min of it is the anime itself, and the whole anime is just that 90 min.

I really like that key visual, all the characters look badass and that one is one sexy group of ladies this anime has.

based on the PV the animation level looks rather high.

If it is a Japanese exclusive arcade game that's fine too. Just ask Aikatsu! and Pretty Rhythm, but both have 3DS games too. Also, this anime sounds interesting.
