No surprise to see Clannad in the Top 10, hopefully they'll also release DVDs to other countries. The high-ranked Pokemon actually surprised me though.

Pokemon is always good. At lease it is in Japan.

Its kind of off-putting, since it sounds like you're saying this is the first time they're getting the show on DVD. Meanwhile here we're on the third or fourth (DVD) re-release.

O.K. Now I understand. There had been no DVD of Dragon Ball Z or GT movies in Japan. In 2008, the publisher in JAPAN started to release the DVD versions of DB movies for the first time.

Edit: Also...there's otaku-outrage about Kannagi? Over what, might I ask?

See the thread below.

Question. The DBZ movies...are they re-releases, special editions or what? I'm surprised to see them here, since they've been out forever.

The DBZ movies are the re-releases of the VHS version. They hadn't been released as DVD.

VHS version of what? Oh wait, you mean the originals?

Am I telling you that confusing thing? The movies were first released as VHS in 1990's and the publisher re-released them as DVD now.

Also, I'm happy that Macross F got so high, but disappointed that it couldn't beat CG. :(

Also yay for geass, zetsubou and frontier.

Other than that, the top 10 is awfully...mediocre stuff :<

Wow, I didn't expect the Kannagi DVDs to be bought by anyone after the Otaku-outrage. And yay for Macross!

Garan no Dou definitely deserves to be #1.
Natsume Yuujinchou being so high surprises and pleases me.

To be honest, I'm quite surprised Pokemon is still holding strong in Japan. I guess ever since Pokemon fizzled out here in the US, I kind of assumed it was the same elsewhere. I'm definitely wrong on that.

Woo Kara. Macross still doing well, nice to see Kannagi doing well considering otaku rage and all. Natsume is surprising though.
