PV is out:

1. The animation seems to be as good or even better than season 1. It seems as funny too.

2. Great that they used the ED of final episode, "Niji no Ressha", as the music in the background.

3. Super-happy that Kumin is still voicing Sonata, despite her graduation announcement!

^ When was that picture taken? It seems to me it was done right after season 1 ended but before season 2 announcement or her announcement of graduation...

YES !! AKB and ANIME !! YES !!

But I want to know if Kuumin will still voice Sonata as she announced her decision to graduate from SKE48, a sister group of AKB48, two weeks ago. I would like her to keep the role. It is entirely possible that her actual graduation date may not come soon -- she is a very popular member in SKE48 so I can expect to see a bunch of activities organized for her eventual graduation so she may stay with the group for a while yet.

Yes She's Still voicing sonata, look at this picture

is taken form succhan (mimori's seiyuu) twitter account and there still kuuimin there, but the intersting part here to see the sonata charater, will they make the character graduate like acchan character in season 1

I greatly enjoyed the series since it perfectly blended so many different genres together that I still don't know whether this anime is a shojo or a shounen.

Can't wait.

Need to start watching this... is it on par with The iDOLM@STER?
The iDOLM@STER is better overall but those anime are quite different, AKB0048 is much more action packed, there's a little more drama too. When both anime have their peak they're on the same level but I find daily life in iM@S more enjoyable.
AKB0048 is still around top5 of 2012 for me. Top10 for sure (out of ~70).

For me, idolm@ster is better. It was more fun to watch, whereas this show had a plot with mechs and stuff. They honestly felt like distractions.

Rather than just the girls, you had plots between groups, mechs, idols fighting and shooting guns, etc. It just felt like they tried to put too many different genres into the show. I just couldn't enjoy it that much since all I wanted was idols performing, and even that was decent at best since most of the group performances was done in CG which made it awkward.
It seems you didn't read anything about the show beforehand. Mood was set right from the beginning as well. Yeah, CG is bothersome and certainly can't compare to iM@S dance sequences which obviously look better and what's more, are more fluent. Difference in budget, skill of staff or allowed production time, I guess. I still loved the concerts, CG isn't painful to watch at all unlike in stuff like Berserk.

@symbv, seeing how she hasn't announced her graduation date yet, I wouldn't worry too much, she should still voice Sonati.

iDOLM@STER 2 is bound to happen sooner or later.

That would be a glorious day.

It's at least 10x times better than iDOLM@STER

You kid. IDOLM@STER is the original. Everything else just tries to get to its level. AKB0048 was fortunate to have Okada Mari on its writing staff because she writes some of the most compelling material. IDOLM@STER, on the other hand, has a lot more in terms of being able to develop attachment to the characters.

iDOLM@STER is just plain amazing, whereas AKB0048 was just good.

It's not like this and Idolmaster are terribly similar. The comparison doesn't make a lot of sense. AKB is a sci-fi anime, while Idolmaster is a (sort of) realistic idol-as-career show.

Isn't AKB0048 actually more realistic in terms of dealing with idol problems and having hater appearances?

That could be due to the fact that Idolm@ster had 25 episodes while AKB0048 only had 13.
