Live actions aren't all that bad so i can't dismiss it just yet. But i doubt they can catch the atmosphere of the anime in a live action.

Death note live action movies and battle royale one (Although shi5uya seems abit crap) were moderatly good offering a similiar yet different approach to things.

I doubt this movie could be better than the anime. The movie by Ghibli was so great and so sad. I doubt they can renew such experience with live actors...

i kinda agree. i mean, the live action could be really sad and good and all.. but.. why make one? tsc.

SAY IT AINT SO!.....they're gonna ruin a REALLY GOOD movie with a crappy Live Action -.-". they should leave the great classics alone, and not touch them.

I haven't even seen the Ghibli film yet. Maybe i'll watch both when the live-action comes out and compare.

(Bondius FTW! Your finally posting on the forums.)

But if you ask me, it's gonna be weak, the live action movies are more like comedies to me (I laughed like an idiot at Death Note live action lol).

Heh...yeah. There is a particular style at work in some movies that completely overshadows the plot.

Interesting to see it's being done. Doubt I'll watch it, though.

I doubt this will be anywhere near as good as the anime, from what I've heard. But we shall see. (I'll have to watch them both and compare.)

NVT did a made-for-TV movie in 2005. This is a theatrical movie.

Didn't they already do a live action movie for TV in November 2005?

I don't know, I didn't find the movie that sad as all said. Sure, it was tragic and it touched me but I've probably seen far greater horrors of war to truly sadden me. It was a good movie nonetheless, I'm quite curious on how the live action will turn out.
