Thai Police Officers Get Punished

Before you ask, "What does this have to do with anime?" - you'll find out soon. The BBC recently reported on a new punishment for police officers of Thailand. For minor things, such as being late or parking in a wrong spot, they get to brandish a Hello Kitty armband.

The police station says it will help build discipline and bring shame to whoever wears it, but if their actions continue they will use a more traditional way of punishment.

I read about that, it seems like a ridiculous idea.

I heard that they also weren't supposed to tell what they did wrong. So that civilians would have to guess what it was that they did wrong causing misunderstanding, in turn, bestowing humiliation and anguish on the officer. Extremely temporary punishment, however (a few day(s)).

It doesn't seem like the Thai Police have any female personnel, though. :-
