According to Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, an OVA of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi was announced. The production studio is Brains Base.

Waited so long for this. I remember the year the 1st season finished and I marathoned it right at my kitchen table with a glass of orange soda and some doritos. If the theory of "testing the waters" is correct, I will be a happy person. I am caught up in the 400+ chapters of manga. As long as Miu's voice actor is good, I don't see why they don't make a second season. It is obviously popular enough for it to make it this far.

Wow, first it was sliced bread, now a Kenichi OVA!!!!! Only thing better would be that dreamed for second season! Kenichi is one of my all time fav anime!

Most of the television voice cast are returning for the video project. However, Rie Kugimiya is replacing the late Tomoko Kawakami for Miu's role, and Yuzuru Fujimoto is Hayato, taking the place of Hiroshi Arikawa, who passed away last year. May the Furinji's RIP~

Anyway, could be another never-evending anime adaptation of yet another never-evending manga.

I hope It would be a continuation, because the anime was kind of better than the manga and the pace was so great, they will below it if the gonna make it from the start again.

I don't think so, after a series runs for something like 50+ episodes as a season with a long break afterwards; your pretty much going to be getting mostly OVA's for here on out. But you never know! What they are going to cover next could be perfect for OVA and after that would be perfect for a second series.
