T&B is not mecha at all, it's selling because it's good.

I would, except fujoshi don't own BD players, unless they all suddenly went out en mass and bought them in the past two seasons, the majority of T&B buyers are male. Fujoshi also don't explain why it's one of the most discussed anime on 2ch. Not to mention there has been virtually no homolust at all. Face it, T&B is good therefore it sales.

I don't understand all the confusion over good sales for Infinite Stratos.

1. Its Mecha
2. Its got cute girls
3. Its based on a best selling novel

Mecha alone is guaranteed at least 10-15k sales. Adding cute girls and already having a big established fanbase with the novels add a lot more sales.

Its not about quality, its about appealing to possible buyers. Just look at Tiger & Bunny this season. Its not that good, but because its mecha, it sells great

DVDs are an antiquated technology. A Blu Ray player can be had for the same price as a DVD player these days and when DVDs and BDs are nearly the same price in most cases there is no reason not to get the higher quality version.

Luckily for you, they sell VHS x Blu Ray players so you can watch your antique media.
