In both series the main character is transformed and gets to live in the home of his crush. In Detective Conan he is turned into a kid and in Pretty Face he must live as a girl. Naturally the goal to get their true form back is also the same.

Imagine that Shinichi gets shot at the amusement park only to awaken and find himself in the form of Ai Haibara instead of Conan.

As disturbing as that might sound thats EXACTLY what this series is.

Pretty enjoyable though.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro addpermalink

Both protagonists solve obscure and intriguing mysteries. Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro has a supernatural twist to it. The detectives are entirely different, however. Conan is a genius 17 year old in a 6 year old body, while Neuro is a brilliant sadistic demon.

Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara is a detective parady that has dabbled in some Detective Conan-like mysteries. I can't help thinking of Nagumo Keiichirou as sort of an old and bitter alternate universe version of adult Shinichi if he had never become Conan but also if things went very downhill for him after high school.

Ranma ½ addpermalink

For if you want a bit of mystery in your series. The romances and humor feels pretty similar to Ranma with the same will they or won't they feel. Hattori  and Shinichi have a friendly rivalry that reminds me a lot of Ranma and Ryoga.

Both center around dialogue-heavy explanations of complicated events. They are stories mainly about illusion and smart people explaining the rules behind those tricks.

In Detective Conan there's several crime cases where the solutions to figure out the culprit are very complex and require attention for all the hints to be gathered. In Liar Game similar style is followed but within games about deception.

Both have several different events that follow these formula with several characters being introduced at first,  then wondering and reacting to the restrictions presented and at the conclusion the smart ones finding a solution to the situation.

While at a first glance these manga seem to have almost nothing in common, a person who enjoys One Piece will certainly enjoy reading Detective Conan. Both stories have well-developed characters that the readers will undoubtedly be rooting for; both have a main protagonist that fights for what he believes in, regardless of the danger that may come or the people who may be against him; and both have a central storyline that is suspenseful, moving and impossible to ignore. If you enjoy One Piece's mysterious Void Century and the corrupt nature of the World Government, you will most definitely enjoy Edogawa Conan's adventures.

Both are episodical stories about various crime cases, frequently crimes commited through some creative mean. While Detective Conan is from point of view of the detective, Lupin III is from point of view of the criminal.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi addpermalink

Both have a main protagonist who returns to his child but retain their full intelligence and have to solve a murder case. While Detective Conan Is episodic, Boku dake ga Inai Machi centers only around a few murders. Both have to try to hide their real identity for others. Boku Dake has an overal darker atmosphere than Detective Conan.

Both series are mystery revolving around a genius detective. What's similar is definitely not the plot but the way they offer suspense and a sense of excitement. A detective story challenges the brain to solve puzzles and that's exactly what these manga excell at. From Shinichi/Conan's thought-through deductions to Xeno's confidence in his abilities as a detective.

It seems odd, but the entire time reading I kept thinking "this is just Detective Conan in a different setting"
The protagonist is stupidly overpowered in knowledge, and every few chapters a new mystery is introduced to them to solve. The similarities may end there, but the overall vibe of the mystery solving is so similar I think a fan of this aspect may enjoy these manga.

The ComiQ and Detective Conan are two mystery shounen manga centering around murder and finding the true criminal(s) behind the mystery(ies) the characters solve, with the help of specific and somewhat cryptic hints. The character designs and art styles are distinctive and reading through these are honestly pretty engaging at keeping the reader's attention. The ComiQ is a much quicker read than the still-ongoing-to-this-day Detective Conan though.

Young Miss Holmes and Detective Conan are two manga series starring a younger (or seemingly younger in Conan's case) main character who has surprisingly amazing problem-solving skills and is solving mysteries for the majority of the series. Both series are good at creating suspense between the mysteries that occur.

Yu-Gi-Oh and Detective Conan are two iconic shounen manga where the main character is a boy with some kind of alter ego who demonstrates his smarts and problem-solving as he punishes the criminals who comes in his way (for YGO this is mainly in first 7 vols). The girl he likes is trying to find out who this alter ego is and the series has some elements of mystery, though these apply more to Conan than to YGO. Both series are really funny and engaging to read, but also really long (Conan is STILL serializing as of 2021!) so keep that in mind.

The similarities in these manga are hard to describe but it's peak vibes, both authors have a clear love for the mystery genre especially Sherlock Holmes type works. It shows through the settings and art style amazingly, these are the best mystery manga the medium has to offer imo, and the monster of the week vibes only add to the campy charm both series excel at

Although Iris Zero isn't really about a detective solving cases, the main character does solve things with his amazing deductive abilities and powers of observations Just like Conan in Case Closed (Detective Conan). Iris Zero has a more supernatural theme while Case Closed is purely about a kid genius detective. Regardless of the difference, both are amazing and if you like reading about a character coming to conclusions through their powers of observation, definitely read both!

Both involve solving cases, and they have a similar kind of mystery-atmosphere. Shibatora has a bigger focus on the emotion behind character relationships, while Detective Conan has a bigger focus on the tricks behind pulling off a crime.

Sakura is basically a high school Detective like Kudo, except that she is female, lives in a different time frame and retains her teenage size. She goes to a 'finishing school' for young ladies, but practices the Kendo from her fathers dojo. Her older brother is a police officer and she walks into things.

These two series might sound incompatible, but there are some fun similarities between Detective Conan and Omniscient Reader:

* The protagonist loves a certain novel and references it all the time;
* He emulates or impersonates his favorite character on occasion;
* He makes lots of snarky commentary in his head, but not out loud;
* He is always thinking a dozen steps ahead and pulls some very complex gambit pileups;
* The protagonist keeps this huge secret from his allies and has to lie to them all the time;
* There's a girl in the same situation as the protagonist, and knows about his secret. She also has a somewhat evil personality;
* There's this one character who is just as likely to help the protagonist as to sabotage him;
* The antagonists are an organization that seems so untouchable and impossible for the protagonist to ever defeat, but he has to if he ever wants to live a normal life again.

The fact that both these series are detective series is a reason why you should read this after that. But not really. Although both have several similar genre's, Detective Conan deals with mature and eerie cases, while Clamp School Detectives .. are School detectives. The levels of both series are a huge difference, tho', some cases might look (or are) almost the same.

They are not similar in plot  but both talk about human emotions, thoughts, psychology and the way we think. 
Both main character try to solve conflicts and problems.

The main characters of both Detective Conan and Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning are very smart.  They do detective "stuff" and solve cases even if they are difficult.  Most of the cases involve with themselves (Conan/Shinichi is involved in solving cases in order to find out about Black Organization, and Ayumu is involving series of "Blade Children" event in order to find out whereabout of his brother).

Thrilling and riveting, Meitantei Conan and Ayatsuri Sakon revolve around several episodic mysteries that will have you on the edge of your seat as you figure out who, why, and how. Their contrast shows in the protagonists: Sakon mostly works alone and Conan has a colourful set of companions that help him out from time to time.

If you like detective stories like this then you should give detective conan a try (he is even mentioned innthe oneshot). The main characters are a lot alike and the case looks like it could come straight from a detective conan story.

Do you enjoy reading about people who solve diffucult cases. Do you like main characters that are very smart and get into a lot of dangerous situations? If the answer was yes, you should read both of these manga. Although the backstory of both characters is different, they both share their love for solving cases and they are probably the best at it! Both stories make you wish you were as smart as their maincharacters.

Also written by Gosho. Kaito appears several times in Detective Conan. Often matching wits the the detective and the police force. Conan comes close to catching KID several times and he barely gets away. If you wanna know more about Kaito Detective Conan is a must.

Sherlock Holmes no Chousen addpermalink

Both are detective stories that captivates you. It makes you need to know the answers.
The cases are perfectly made like there was a mastermind behind them but
non of the criminals could win against the intelligence of Sherlock Holmes and Detective Conan (both detectives have the same atitude and talent)
Detective Conan was compared to Sherlock Holmes in the plot.
Sherlock Holmes solves the mysteries by himselve with some minor clues from his partner Watson.

Differences:
D Conan can't play the violin but he has many tecnology devices.
Detective Conan solves the cases by himself too but with clues and help from many people (mostly friends) but there are cases where his detective friend solves them because Conan wasn't there or being solved by both of them.
In D Conan there is also an occult organitation that they were investigating.
Sherlock Holmes is settled in the 19th Century in England while D Conan is in Japan in the new age with slides of humor.

Wherever they go, a case is sure to be hot on their heels. Shinigami Tantei to Yuuutsu Onsen may be vastly inferior in terms of length – only providing a mere arc, but it doesn't fall short of providing a spine-tingling investigation, of which Meitantei Conan doesn't hesitate to offer.
