Honestly, I was more than mildly disappointed.
Because it was actually a NICE story, it had its own style of art, telling the story and it had its own pace.
Kaitou Kid was introduced in Detective Conan; never again to have an independent, non-affected story. It lost its charm, like it got confused of its direction.
You SEE it, it's actually visible like before and after pictures.
It set me off.
That's why I dropped it.
Up to that point, it was very enjoyable.
Kaitou Kid (which was NOT Phantom Kid until Detective Conan) is a secondary student who, in the beginning of the story, finds out that his deceased father was actually Kaitou Kid. After that, through circumstances, he takes upon the title 'Kaitou Kid', quickly reaching headlines and goes from job to job stealing precious jewels.
His easy-going, considerate personality added flare to the story.
The art (pre-Detective Conan) was fair, not specific with details but it got the job done.
Considering all the above, it is your decision whether to read it or not; I guess I'm this disappointed because I had Great Expectations. read more
