It's not like it's ever going to stop or deter me in any way from watching something someone wrote, directed, starred in, animated, etc. In this case I think he is an English dub voice actor? In which case not even applicable as I watch everything subbed, but my same position and view toward it would apply all the same if he were a Japanese seiyuu. |

But in my case, I (or in any previous instance when I've said something to a similar effect on the forum) was just speaking in a purely personal capacity about what I believe and how I live in this regard in terms of my own treatment of and interaction with art and artists. Not really either expecting that all other folks either already do or necessarily believe they should/must do the same. It's essentially a very personal matter and prerogative that's going to be shaped by a whole wide variety of every individual's other beliefs and overall worldview and way of relating to the world. Like on maximization of derived individual benefit and gain versus belief in adherence to a higher duty toward a collective of social responsibility, harmony, and cohesion. And so forth. As in, if I cared far more in an altruistic sense about a loftier aspirational view of societal improvement versus my own mental and emotional cultural nourishment and enrichment then I'd probably view it in the opposite light. |

| I remember when this controversy originally happened years ago and how many men were just immediately on his side because of his public persona of "the nice Christian neighbor" sort of figure in the voice actign industry. I remember seeing some of the victims of his abuse being actively harassed by incel freaks because they spoke up about him, claiming they were lying and stuff. It doesn't really surprise me to see him going down that alt-right rabbit hole considering that the original situation pushed a lot of male anime fans rightwards politically. It does suck that his a piece of shit because I really did enjoy a lot of his voice acting and music, especially those English Dragon Ball and One Piece covers from the mid to late 2000s, but I am at least glad that he's somewhat irrelevant these days. He was like the only original Persona 3 cast member to not even have a cameo in Reload due to him being blacklisted and I sincerely hope that he doesn't work in this industry again since he did so many horrible things |

| I thought Vic did a good job dubbing back when I used to watch dubbed stuff. Nowadays I lack faith in localizers and dubbing studios to avoid the dei 👃agenda. I think a lot of celebrity drama is inherintly fishy. This news reminds me of Shield Hero plot. Vic cheating on his wife is not a crime just like how women doing the same are not doing one.
