| I had a flip-phone until 2017, and I also remember still using 3.5'' floppy disks and Windows XP in freshman year of highschool. I don't know about the 80s but I think could survive from the 90s to the mid 2000s. Gen Z/Alpha definitely couldn't survive either though. |

The internet wasn't even publicly used much until about 1995 on so what would you even do with WiFi in the 80s? lol Most would not have a cell phone either. | Not only they can adapt, but they will soon find out that without smart phone, social media, internet and so on, they will be happier, leading simple happy lives, where having fun is as simply as playing hide and seek, or playing polices and thieves, in the garden or some old buildings, or gossiping about there are ghosts in that old building They will have more activities that involve body movements, it's much healthier lifestyle for kids compared to now, physically and mentally healthier |

I didn't even disagree that it was bigger in early 2000s as you can see in the bar graph. Just saying it was accessible in the 90s. Bear in mind earlier web design was a lot more lightweight than today. The only major difference between 90s and early 2000s technology wise DSL becoming more affordable I think. Im not sure when cable became more common since that heavily depends on region on when the infrastructure was installed. |

In the 80s there was communism and access to electronics... maybe that times were not as extreme as it used to be earlier or in othe communistic countries as communism was gradually falling but that's not the soft times like it is right now. Not to mention that in schools back in those days a teacher could beat you up if you missbehaved [or if they simply wanted] and your parents, they would make a 2nd round on you, cause it was a sign of lack of discipline as the teacher was the right one and if you had bruises or other visible damage than you've been punished for a reason so the parents would punish you again even if they didn't know the reason, imagine that happening right now. [All of that based on my family and older buddies memories as I wasn't born yet back than x), one of my friend actually got few times beaten like described] |

I'm a 1982 kid... and i Remember the 1980's just fine. My Parent's Music became the soundtrack of my Childhood... and i actually didn't grow up to resent that either. My Folks weren't Wealthy by any means... but they did try their utmost to raise me well, with lots of positive influence and role modelling that in many ways has stuck with me to this day. Between my mother's efforts to encourage interest in NASA and Aerospace Engineering in general and her unconventional approach of raising me around both Boys' and Girls' Toys and such, i suppose you could say that my lifelong interests already had their Foundations laid before i even left my Preteens...        |

| I literally live in internet. Without internet my life would be empty and meaningless. Maybe if i were born in 80s i would somehow adapt (but it would still be much worse than now) but if i went back in time i would die of boredom. I would like to go back in time for a while: take a walk around, try the food of that time and all that. |

Farming is like the one proffesion associated with 'old times' and statistically farmers have the most intercourse out of all the proffesions. And 80s had more child births (US statistics) The average for first childbirth in the 80s was around 23 whereas now its around 27. People just have more stuff to focus on and work for now before all that. |

| Only reason to go back is for low rent, easy stock, cheap food. Arcades exist you can still game. TV still pretty decent. @Phon1x You are absolutely correct. We Miss all the small things and block out all the bad shit. Personally think even without my trauma I wouldn't miss those days. I had no freedom |
| Gen Z/Alpha can barely survive now. With existence being a lot cheaper then they might get along better, especially the ones who aren't smart enough for a degree. Gen alpha doesn't really need to worry about that yet, but most of gen z is either going into college, in college currently, or just finished it and the job market today is tough. Gen z also had to get used to technology advancing around them a lot, so I think they'd be prepared to enter a new environment where things are done differently. I think gen alpha being younger they haven't had as much experience, and they were also born into a world where technology had progressed even further. |
