Hello everyone !

I have been watching quite a lot romance/romcom anime over the past year.
So many that I can't even remember which ones I watched with a story that didn't receive a conclusion in the anime.
And I am pretty sure I have missed a lot of good stories because the entire anime has never been released.
I'm obviously talking about anime that will never get a sequel.

Since I enjoy reading as much as watching, I wanted to ask you which good-but-not-finished romance anime you recommend or are worth reading that receives a (good) conclusion in the manga.

Some examples even if I haven't read the manga yet:
- Ao Haru Ride
- Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
- Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo : but I have read/heard the conclusion in the manga was not worth reading it.

Thanks a lot !

I know a great-but-not-finished anime with conclusion in the manga and it's called Yagate Kimi ni Naru
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

Yes! The perfect example. But even with the unresolved plots, the anime is a masterpiece with a perfect ending. We don’t need season 2, we just need everyone to read the manga in addition to watching the anime!

Oh I have loads for you.

Aharen san
Charlotte-> will never get a sequel
Domestic girlfriend (i've read the manga, it's great. highly recommended)-> will never get a sequel
Horimiya (you should read the manga)-> will never get a sequel
Kaguya sama (but i recommend waiting for new season)
Takagi san (highly recommended)
Kawaii da ke janai Shikimori san
Koi to uso (highly recommended)-> will never get a sequel
Bunny girl senpai (sequel is coming wait for it if possible)
My dress up darling (sequel is coming wait if possible)
When will Ayumu make his move
Taishou Otome Fairytail (the cuteness and wholesomeness is off the charts, highly recommended)-> will never get a sequel
Tonikaku Kawaii (it's so good will make you wanna get married, again sequel is coming so wait if possibe)
Tsurezure children (this is just too good, watch the anime for an introduction and then read the manga)-> will never get a sequel
Love is hard for Otaku-> will never get a sequel

These are the ones which continue in the manga and I've watched all of these and they are extremely good in my opinion. Very fun, good romance scenes, cute scenes, it has comedy too, some have kiss scenes too. Watch any of them you won't be disappointed.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

Aoi Hana is another yuri romance drama with an anime that leaves all loose ends… If you want perfect happy endings, stick with the anime despite the unfinished plot. But if you love the beautiful art and don’t mind realism and serious adult romance with messy and complicated relationships, then indulge yourself in a beautifully drawn manga that may not give you a fairy tale ending.

I would call the adaptation of this manga one of the worst decisions in the direction of the adaptation, since almost all anime spends its time on pairing that obviously never becomes canon, touching on the main relationship only a little at the end.

Kiss Him Not Me is a pretty good reverse harem (If you like fujoshi and otaku characters), it's got good comedy. THe anime doesn't really have an ending but the manga has a good ending.

Kodomo no Omocha. It's the perfect case because the liveliness of the anime makes it very well worth watching, but then switching to the manga is necessary because the anime deviates at some point and the decrease in the quality of the writing is noticeable.

I can't reply to everyone but thanks for all the suggestions. :)

If sequels are planned, I would rather wait for the next season than reading the manga.

I remember some of the animes I have watched, could you tell me if it's worth reading the conclusion in the manga (if it does exist of course) ?
- Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou -
- Mayo Chiki
- Akatsuki no Yona
- Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
- Ookami to Koushinryou (Spice and Wolf)

And the 3 from my first message :
- Ao Haru Ride
- Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
- Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo : but I have read/heard the conclusion in the manga was not worth reading it.

I loved the art in the Aoi Hana manga, and the anime did a good job of reproducing that style, but you are correct that the anime leaves out the most important parts of the story. It seems as though the producers expected to have 2 or 3 seasons to tell the story in the anime, and really just showed us the first couple of chapters...

In contrast, the anime team behind Bloom Into You did a fantastic job of giving us an appropriate "ending" even though the adaptation did not get to the final third of the manga.

Luckily, I learned about the manga after the anime, so I wasn't so disappointed that the anime felt more like an adaptation of the subplot than the story itself. However, Bloom into you covers it completely and is actually so good that it could be a great and well-written romance even if it was a straight or BL relationship.

Mayo Chiki! comes to mind. Although it qualifies as a harem anime, the male lead ends up with one girl in the end and it's pretty easy to guess which one. A pity this series ended after only one cour, as it would have taken only one more cour to finish the LN/manga and bring it to a proper conclusion.

Yes! Bloom Into You is simply the best romance ever! It would be a mistake to just label it as yuri. If there is a better romance in any genre, I want to know about it! If one was teaching a course to an aspiring mangaka, Bloom Into You would be the template for how to write a romance.

Pour one out for all the Maid-Sama boys going on 10+ years waiting for a sequel. At least the first season ended on a satisfying enough note.

Good to know, I have never watched any yuri anime (and I don't have any issue with love between two girls at all) but his one seems to be the one to watch !
Currently watching "Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita", "Bloom into you" will definitely be next. ;)

Well, I thought an anime like like this one with a good ending had its final conclusion in the anime.

Yes, they stopped adaptation in the middle. There is also sequel manga about their wedding.

Quick and stupid question, is there any info on MAL that indicates if a manga has been fully adapted into an anime ?
Can we easily find this information somewhere ?
Like the anime covers 30 chapters out of 80 of the manga, that would be amazing information. :)

Because I think there's a bunch of anime that I liked to watch believing they were over and if that's the conclusion in the manga is even better.

No, sadly there is no such information on MAL. It would be great if it was.

That's a great idea. Wouldn't it be great if MAL told you how many chapters or how much of the source material is included in the anime?

I think there is a difference between good work and archetypal work. There are many great romantic shows, some are simple, some are complex. Bloom into you is not the only good example.
