Do you own anime merchandise?

Recently, I've got a figure of Altina Orion and every time I look at her I regret that anime girls aren't real.

How nice would it be if she'd sit on my lap and blushed while I headpat her?

Or if she scolded me to get my life together?

Why even have science if it creates nothing of value nowadays, smh.

Anyway, do you own anime related merch?

i have some manga, light novels and cds i bought from amazon japan, but that's it.
ah and trading cards, if those count.
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

I have a couple manga (Digital not paper) that I got from Bookwalker 50% sales.
I wish I was able to get them on paper and signed by the author or something because of the collector fashion, but it's too expensive. I also have the original Pokémon movie on DVD. Don't think that counts though.

I have built several Bandai Space Battleship Yamato kits from the 1970s and 1980s. I also own an Astro Boy figure and a Bandai GUNPLA High Grade 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam.

For tokusatsu, I have figures of Ultraman, Ultraman Tiga and Kamen Rider.

Seeing that manga is also listed, I own 85 volumes, including "comic-style" prints.

i think it should count, provided it's not a bootleg.

manga and light novels definitely count as merch. why do you think that's not the case?

I always thought of merch as things like figures, clothes, decoration.

But yeah I guess physical books count too

I've got all Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Monster, Fullmetal Alchemist and recently I finished all Houseki no Kuni

Once I had the opportunity to buy all the volumes of Evangelion's manga, but I didn't buy and now I regret.

I've got lots of things from Nier Automata such as figures, 4 copies of the game, The Black Box edition, LN, Art book, T-Shirt, etc
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

Yes, but not a lot. I don't really like to spend too much on merch. I'm quite frugal.

I have a figurine of Rei and Asuka from Evangelion that my sister got me for my birthday. They sit on a shelf right next to the desk where I am currently typing this. I also have a book of illustrations from Evangelion that I really like too!

I also own three (legally purchased) anime DVDs: Perfect Blue, Akira, and The End of Evangelion.

Edit: oh yeah, I used to have an all-in-one edition of the Death Note manga. But I ended up giving that to my cousin.

I own a few figures, manga and yugioh cards.

But i've been collecting for 14 years,
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

You have got a nice collection of merchandise here, have you by any chance built the Hasegawa or Arii kits of the VF-1. Both are non-transforming, but I have heard that they are the most accurate in fighter form?

On an unrelated note, I might as well ask if posters count? I am asking for a friend who I will be posting for. He cannot confirm whether they are official or bootleg.

i think they should, provided that they are official. as a general rule of thumb, if the poster was bought for cheap, the product 'feels' cheaply made and doesn't have the company logo where one would expect, it's probably a bootleg. You can check amazon japan to have a feel of the typical price for anime posters, which will vary by size. B2 posters for love live, for example, retail for about 3200 yen, while B1 posters sell for 5500 yen, since they are larger. This doesn't take into account the cost of shipping, so the actual price you pay for them is higher.

If you buy anime merchandise, you're only supporting the companies that manufacture and sell the merchandise, not the actual anime producers and studios. Don't fall for lies from third-party tricksters and their influencer shills who go around saying "bUy mERch to support the industry"!

This claim is categorically FALSE. You can find the official merch listed on the series official website as well as on the producer's website, such as Kadokawa. The anime companies will also sometimes advertise the products on Youtube, as well as during live stream announcements. Note that companies like Kadokawa, Shueisha, and Houbunsha are involved in the production of anime, directly or indirectly.

the old fixed-mode ARII kits were the only Avenue open to me back in the dark days of western MACROSS fandom that was the 1990's.

that said, i did do two ARII FIGHTER VF-1s back then, attempted a Hasegawa 1/72 FIGHTER VF-1 back in the late-2000's/early-2010's,
and i have a couple of the new MAX FACTORY PLAMAX 1/72 FIGHTER VF-1 kits coming to me when they release towards the end of this year;
