| It is literally because of the ending. Because it was trash many people gave it 1/10 instead of rating it as a whole. If it had been good and liked by everyone then it would probably rise over 9 and top berserk. If you dont count the ending then 8.58 is very low for a manga of this caliber. |

| 8.58 is most certainly not low. It astounds me seeing people make threads complaining about a manga or anime ranked 8 and over being "too low rated". It shouldn't matter either way as long as you enjoy it. |

Even at its peak, AoT was sitting quietly in the top 50 with ratings around 8.7 or something. Isayama could trade his own soul for an ending that would've satisfied everyone, and it still would've stayed where it was. I've read berserk, its an overrated piece of shit. Its rated 9.5 because you fanboys live in an echo chamber full of elitists. Do YOU seriously not read anything else? |

| AOT got so popular and mainstream because of animation and ost. Plot and narrative is good but 8.5 should be enough for the manga. Art style was bad in beginning and the conclusion (which is as important as whole story itself) didn't reach up to the mark of the storyline. So 8.5 is generous too. Above 9, it will reach in the leagus of Berserk, Monster which AoT clearly isn't deserving. |

| The ending is pretty controversial. So it got hate spammed after the final chapter dropped. But I still think it has a pretty good rating. |
