If Deku was a girl, would the series be more impactful, considering our current cultural values (women empowerment, etc.)? Or would it be less popular, since most action series star male leads?

Well,considering the crybaby aspect,it would seem sexist.There would be unnecessary fanservice ,a LOT more r34 than there currently is for Deku.The Bakugou shippers would have a field day.On the flip side,the fight scenes where Deku goes plus ultra would be groundbreaking for an anime female MC. It would have a major impact on the shonen genre

Not really deku's the opposite of what a Male stereotype is so making him a girl would make him a female stereotype

Also making a shonen protagonist a girl would be a really bad business move shonen is aimed for young straight males so changing the gender would have problems

Lastly I think female empowerment is damn stupid it's literally just give "toxic male" traits to a girl

Tachibana is a narcissistic sociopath, who does not give a slightest flying fcuk about innocent people she is supposedly protecting and actually shows more sympathy to irredeemable terrorists.
Her being a hero has nothing to do with altruism, but satisfying her own sick and twisted sense of self gratification, because after several times befriending terrorists became a muscle memory.

Literally, when she found out, that terrorists murdered 100k innocent people for simple amusement, her first thought was "Let's be friends". She an actual insidious and guile person, but I'm not sure wether it was unintentional and a result of writers incompetence, or deliberate writing, but anyway series ended and she never got called out on it.

I think that if deku was a girl it would show a bit more respect towards women in the anime fandom but not in real life sadly, Uraruka would not simp for him/her anymore but if she did we would know her sexuality as Bi. So deku would be treated the same from Kacchan but no one else would treat him different, but he is a crybaby which I'm completely fine with me but it would send a different message as dramatic towards the other characters since he would be a girl. I also ship BakuDeku(my opinion) and I think that I prefer male deku because BakuDeku is better with 2 males.
