Duuuuuuuude, seriously!?!? That's bad. Would you recommend I should just go read the manga at this point?
I would definitely recommend it! Since this anime does its own thing, people will no longer see awesome human and demon characters that made the manga great. Also, I would recommend starting from chapter 1. Season1 was awesome, but manga makes it so much more awesome. After all, they skipped details there as well. Do consider though that plot gets rather cheesy after you're half-way though, but the first half is definitely worth reading. I did like the ending though.

I don’t have as much of a problem with this season as manga readers do. Yeah I think the 6 month time-skip or so was a little disappointing because we didn’t get to see how the children survived in that time, but it isn’t a deal-breaker. I enjoyed the moment with the old demon in the temple and the part showing that the demons need human meat to survive.

The smaller kids got discovered immediately when they left, which wasn’t unexpected. But it was surprising to see Norman pop up again. They are going to have to explain that one.
I would like to clear one thing. This was a 11 month time skip. The date mentioned n last episode was 26 Feb now it's Jan 2047. What Gilda was saying was that nothing of note has happened in the last 6 months or so. U know a thing is bad when you are this confused.

Hmm so this is the town of this age huh. Its interesting hearing the regular demon's views on recent events. While its nice to see that they managed to escape and reach safety looks like supply's in a tough spot. Nice disguises though. The scenes at the temple though sure introduced some excellent tension. But it was the chase that clinched the crown for that in this ep. Overall an pretty interesting ep that did an excellent job at expanding upon the world via its look into how the demons lived within society and the shared worries that they have for their families as well. But the revelation in the end sure was surprising indeed.

woah they skipped the entire goldy pond arc, this is moving so fast, they completely cut out the shonen part which had good parts in it

also nothing was explained

it's so fast they are gonna finish the whole thing with season 2.

Okydoky, cool, I'll give it a read then, I was originally just planning to read it from where season 1 left off, but since you've said there was some stuff missing there I'll read it from the beginning.

They skipped like 60-70% of the remaining story, and I'm afraid they'll compress the remaining 15% (100-70-15% of the first season) in just 5 episodes!!! Considering how ep6 is a RECAP!
Episode 6 isn't a recap. They'll air a special episode next week and air episode 6 the week after that, stop spreading wrong info.

OMG THEY SKIPPED TO THE DEMON SOCIETY PART?!

Okay, so the good thing is we got to see how the demons interact. However, there’s SOOOOO much content that has been skipped- around 65%.

Why is their only a 6 month time skip? By this point there’s was 2 years go by which made the kids combat skills and survival skills more justified. Did you see how the group ran away from the demons then cutaways to them finding a safe spot? Plot armour at its finest.

Do anime only watchers care that Norman is back? Because to me it’s too fast paced and should have been done in a later date like the manga.

What was the “HELP!” in the room? Who was behind the soldiers who raided the shelter? What happened to William Minerva? Are we gonna find out? NOPE! Manga readers know tho.

I’m trying to comprehend why the author wanted to change the story and produce a worse one, but it’s not making any sense.

I can't believe he's still alive... but how?! And how is he free? That last scene was so intense and I thought Emma and Ray were screwed. I'm guessing the demon who was following Gilda, Don and the boys wasn't a real demon too.

Fantastic episode overall, but the time skip was a bit of a disappointment cause the first few months that the kids try to survive outside of the house seemed like a significant part of the story; they'd learn about the world and we'd learn with them. It would build up the dread and horror of their bleak futures and add that tense horror element the 1st season had.

You can kiss the Goldy Pond Arc goodbye, this is the LAST time I will be saying this.

Midway into the Cuvitidala Arc, and the Grace Field escapee children are still vulnerable at every point as they don demon gear and walk around aimlessly.

The demons though still in search of fresh human meat...wonder how long they have to starve for. Even the scene where the actual demons were chasing the children felt so bland, no semblance of tragic suspension.

[b]They should've nailed Norman's scene, but...by now, we all should have a common understanding of where this could go.

At the rate of the original scenes, for every 23 mins worth of episode, I could foresee a volume's worth of content being shrunk down to only cover the main points whilst everything else is anime-original.

As an anime-only, I really don't have any issues with the pacing or how the story is going. Honestly, this is one of the reasons why I don't read the manga before watching its anime adaptation:

1. Spoilers.
2. Raised expectations.

Ain't they gonna explain what happened between the base being raided and wherever they're at now?? This is the 2nd time they're bsing themselves a way through. How did they get there, where did they find it, how long did they travel to find the demon city, what happened in-between then and 6 months ago.
I get that covid's making it hard to get work done but I'd like some answers. Heard something about a "recap episode" so it's to hope that they put in that info over there, and don't rush through w/e this arc is cause of time issues.

Note: I haven't read the manga.

I like Emma's new look and the return of their old friend. I'm surprised he's looking this good seeing how I seen some stuff... then again they may just act like that stuff never happened and said character is OK now.

I was hoping that with the bad feedback the manga end got that they'd choose to rewrite certain parts to make them more appealing but it's now looking as if they're gonna keep jumping through the story to cover as much ground as they can before getting cancelled.

*TALKING ABOUT MANGA* I’m kind of ticked off with this episode. We’re just skipping the whole goldy pond arc? It’s not even that but the fact that we havent recieved big pieces of information and when we do, they’re fed to us on silver spoons. It’s either in our faces to us, or a scenario that’s OH SO CONVENIENT to figuring out something new. We get a lot of boring or pointless scenes, where things arent happened. And then this time skip happens where we skip what shouldve been so important. I love norman dont get me wrong, but they washed his epic comeback into this basic one. It’s so much more impactful in the manga because of the character he becomes. I had hopes for the second season developing more with the 6 coming episodes but this just ruined my hope. I cant even say i’ll know what happens but at the same time, the scenes are sloppily chopped versions of the manga. I wonder if things are just going out of order instead but I think this gave me very little hope

even as an anime-only, this feels like they skipped a ton of important stuff
they went from finding the shelter, to the shelter getting attacked, to escaping the shelter, to living in a demon town undercover, to norman being back all in 3 episodes??? i love norman, but I'm not even excited for his return, everything is so rushed and confusing

Wow, I can't believe they've done this. They completely skipped not only arguably the best arc, but it's the arc that naturally develops to what's currently happening in this arc.

Without Goldy Pond, not only does all of this make little sense (how did they avoid the demons to find this place, how did they set all this up, where did they acquire the materials to pretend to be demons, etc.,) but as a result is has little impact because there's no development towards it from both a character and story perspective (unlike the manga which has Goldy Pond among other things to set it up).

Not only that, but the direction is shit, the characters just repeating lines we heard from other episodes, putting in random, useless filler moments, and just a general lack of cohesiveness that wasn't present in the direction of the first season.

What was the point of showing the shelter for one episode that they'll never go back to? If Goldy Pond doesn't start by next episode, what will have been the purpose of showing the writing on the wall?

And the Norman reveal at the end is so underwhelming.

This is what I don't like. This episode is turning The Promised Neverland into just another shounen. Where before there were no superpowers (besides the kids being really smart). There was no contrived bullshit to save the day at the last moment (the random demon from the last episode that conveniently only eats the adults with guns instead of the kids right next to them). There was no (overwhelming) plot armor. There was true creativity and unpredictability from the kids in order to survive.

And now they might potentially cut out arguably the best arc that showcases this?

How and why the author could possibly think this is something anyone would want or the audience could enjoy is beyond me. It took everything the first season and the manga did right, what was unique and well written about it, and did the exact opposite.

I agree with every point you made, however, the manga did have demons with super-powers, specially Lewis which has the ability to move at the speed of sound and even dodge bullets from machine-guns at point blank, these super-powers bullshitery is one of the reasons the manga started going downhill for me but the anime is looking way worse so far.

LOL, I meant from the kids, not the demons.

And yeah, it's funny some anime-only's say that they don't understand why manga readers dislike the changes because they heard a lot of people disliked how the manga went, when in reality most really only had a problem with the ending/last couple of chapters.

Certainly all the problems most people had were well after the Goldy Pond arc, so it makes no sense to skip for that reason.

It's just so crazy to me. They really could have had the best anime of the year with The Promised Neverland Season 2 adapting everything through the end of Goldy Pond.

Instead they'll likely have the biggest disappointment of the year not to mention it shaping up to be just a mediocre sequel in general.

I hear that they are and have deviated from the manga. I am an Anime-only so it seems okay for me.
But, if the original Mangaka is involved in this, maybe it's for the better?
With the skipped content (from what I've heard), maybe they show it in some form of flashback?

We see that even demons have problems of their own with food shortage.

That chase scene was so intense.

NORMAN IS BACK!!!@!W!O (although I knew they wouldn't kill him back in season one). He appears to be with some tall people - likely to be demons?

Next week is a recap, maybe it won't count towards the 11 episode length but be separate?

damn, that was an unexpected timeskip. Pretty good episode tho, loved seeing the demon town and the old demon guy. Honestly, it's not like the demons are that bad, it seems that some of them need human meat to cure some disease(?), so it's not like they are very morally wrong. Also, Norman??? I expected for him to come back some time, but not this fast. pretty funny seeing manga readers rage just because it skipped an arc even though it's still good lol
it didn’t just skip any arc, they skipped the best arc and cut out some of the best characters. And Norman’s reveal was very anticlimactic in the anime compared to the manga. Overall the anime is pretty good but as of now I prefer the manga

Honestly forgot this shit even came out today. Time to watch and be disappointed again.

Ok, what the absolute fuck is this dog shit? So this pretty much confirms that Goldy Pond is going to be skipped. Then on top of that, the second best moment of the manga which is the reunion with Norman and him being built up as an antagonist is completely gone here. There’s no long build up or search for Minerva and the other clues.

Idk what happened to the author after like late 2018, but he ain’t been the same since. Idk if it was writer block or what, but if this is his idea of rectifying the mistakes he made in the manga, he’s extremely mistaken. On top of that, next week is a recap episode. So only 10 actual episodes this season. To say I’m angry isn’t an accurate statement.

This is a slap in the face to the fans. How this is at an 8 is beyond me.
