I don't understand. So you predict that Eren can turn into titan and also the female, I too predicted that and many fans predicted that, how does being able to predict something mean the anime is bad? You love one piece, yet that is a very predictable series, most of its arc has the same narrative excluding a few and it goes the same path in all of them, but yet you love it. But yet you still love it despite its predictability, so stop using predictability as something negative. And I'm not bashing one piece I love it, just pointing out your hypocrisy. Just because I like something, and hate another thing despite that thing being slightly similar doesn't make me a hypocrite. One has better writing and character development than the other and that's it. This is like saying that I'm a hypocrite for loving Slayer and hating Five Finger Death Punch even though they're both metal bands. No, we are talking strictly about predictability and nothing else, you said predictability is bad basically, which I then pointed out you have no problem with the predictability when watching one piece. You said it yourself, you love one piece so that gets a free pass when it comes to being predictable, which is the point I was making. You said the series jump the shark, it can't jump the shark when this was all foreshadowed masterfully from season 1 to now. You don't have to like the direction, but give credit where its due, the author did a perfect jump in making everything in the plot connect. Did he really? How exactly did he "masterfully" foreshadow this shit? About the predictability, it's like I said, One Piece has much better writing and character development than AOT so when something predictable it's usually not a big deal. Even though I know I know Luffy will win in the end, it still keeps me engaged because Luffy and the rest of his crew (except Sanji, I don't really like him) are fun and interesting characters. There are a few decent characters in AOT like Armin, Erwin, and Sasha, but the only character that I really like is Historia. Her backstory made me feel sympathy for her and her relationship with Ymir is easily the best part of the series. Every other character tho I could care less about. You gave the last season a score of 1 then you’d expect to enjoy the final season’s content? Just drop it when you are not interested. And i agree with the other guy saying you are being hypocrite for saying predictability is bad but when it comes to your fav show, you keep defending its predictability. He’s not even saying which story is better written or more engaging yet you stated over and over again your fav show is better-written First of all, One Piece isn't my favorite. Second of all, the reason I'm still watching is because I want to give this season a chance because of how everyone loves it. You love one piece but it isnt your favorite? Alright... my bad if it really isnt your favorite. Let me ask you, there is one show that people praise it so much and i’ve been interested to see what the show is however after watching it i dislike it so much that I gave it a 1, will the newer season change my mind if I alr hated the previous build ups, twists, story direction, and overall contents? Depending on your answer, people can judge how hypocrite you are I guess you haven't read my previous posts. I used to like the previous seasons of AOT but I didn't love them. Opinions change over time. Is that how you define your score of 1? Felt out of love so badly that you gave it the worst score possible? |

This is the moment everything changes. Pick your side now and stick with it till the end cause there's no right or wrong in this endgame. Reiner and Eren's convo was adapted perfectly with those heavy expression of words. While one stopped and started to question his guilt actions the other moves forward without turning back. #TeamEren |

I didn't know, at the begging, where Willy's speech would end. I even believed, for a moment, he would ask to not invade Paradise Island. He is someone I call terrifying. Beautifully, Eren killed him. OH YEAH, CRUSH IT, EREN. UHAAAAA |

MoonDragon72 said: Here's the first 3 examples that came to mind: 1. Most of the twists are so obvious. Of course the guy with the crutch that kid was talking to was Eren. Who else could it have been? 2. The exposition scenes go on for way too fucking long and most of them tell the audience shit that they already know. 3. I fucking hate where this show is going with this World War 2 thing. The first time I watched the basement reveals, back when I still liked this show, I thought at first that maybe this would be interesting, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that this entire series was just a really bad WWII fanfic and nothing more. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe something will happen later on that will click with me and I'll realize that I'm stupid and that this is the best anime since Spirited Away. I doubt it tho. Regarding number 1, it wasn't a twist, it was more of a subtle way telling you that "Eren is watching". I have to disagree with number 2. Some of the best episodes in the series are the dialogue heavy ones. Here are some of my favorites: - S2 EP9 (Opening) because of Reiner and Eren's fallout. - S3 EP20 (That Day) when Isayama was literally speaking to the audience. - S4 EP5 (Declaration of War) because this episode gave a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between Eren and Reiner. And not just that, it literally explained some of the most irritating plot holes in the entire show like "How did Eldia lose the war?" and "Why didn't the king do anything when Wall Maria fell?". How could we ever move forward without ever understanding the motivations of the most important characters? A major mistake in some popular shows/movies is not explaining the reason why the characters make decisions that are completely out of character. Here are some infamous examples: 1. Western Animation - Steven Universe, Steven Universe: The Movie, and Steven Universe: Future Reason: The diamonds are the most poorly written villains I've ever seen. They have caused mass genocide across the galaxy, imprisoned humans against their will, mutilated their own subjects, and have no remorse at all. Yet all it took was for Steven to tell them that what they did was wrong and then all of a sudden they step down from power. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! And Steven completely changed character without any explanation on why he went from forgiving war criminals to almost murdering innocent people. Hmmm, maybe it makes a little sense. - Star vs. The Forces of Evil Reason: Star commits mass genocide... without thinking. - Voltron: Legendary Defender Reason: Season 7 already ruined the continuity for the entire show by having a poorly executed time skip, but in Season 8, the character decisions of LITERALLY EVERYONE become void of reason and any logic gets thrown off the window. Shiro becomes completely useless and marries a random person. Keith becomes boring and useless too after making hard decisions in the past. Lance becomes a farmer because his girlfriend died, and everything else just doesn't make any sense. The ending was a disaster. - Frozen II Reason: The ending badly needs explanation. All of a sudden Elsa wanted to live in the forest while Anna becomes Queen of Arendelle and NO ONE questioned this? What was the whole purpose of still protecting the forest when you already freed it, they don't need you Elsa! 2. Korean Drama - Black Reason: This is an interesting case, because there is actually a lot of character development here and their actions make sense. So why is this here? THE FUCKING ENDING! The two main characters, Ha-ram and Joon, both commit suicide, creating an alternate timeline where Ha-ram lives a happy life and Joon never existed, leaving all the character development useless. The worst part is that the side characters' (who are all very interesting) character development become useless as well. Joon can't die because he's a grim reaper who entered his body (well, part of it), but then all of a sudden he jumps off a cliff and dies. This is not only a major continuity error, but is also completely out of character. This show managed to keep me interested and intrigued from the very start all just to shit on my face towards the end. What the fuck! 3. Anime - The God of Highschool Reason: Aside from the awful awful pacing and disastrous world-building, the show doesn't let you understand why Mori's grandfather abandoned his grandchild without anyone to take care of him. Like, HOW TF DO YOU LEAVE A CHILD? The wedding episode made no sense, and the secret organization was dumb as well. - BNA Reason: Oh boy, this is tragic. The first half was great, but the second half destroyed everything. Michiro gets betrayed by Nazuna, then suddenly they're friends again the next episode... yeah. Oh, and apparently beastmen can go berserk under a lot of stress, which is really dumb because that would mean it would happen all the time (not a character decision, but still). Oh and racism ends because Nazuna (a human) helped a little girl (a beastwoman). Like, after everything serious that happed, all it took was THAT to end racism against beastmen. And yeah let's totally ignore the fact that beasmen rights advocates existed in episode 3, but who cares about that. There is a reason why Avatar: The Last Airbender is considered as one of the greatest animated TV shows ever. And part of this is the reason is that the writers took their time to truly develop their characters and through meaningful conversations and heavy dialogue. If Eren just suddenly appeared out of nowhere and killed innocent people along with Willy Tybur without any given explanation on why he would do this, I would've hated this episode. Character development is important. Lastly, about number 3, this show has a powerful message about war. This episode took it's time to explain the motives behind each side. Justified? To the people on the side they've chosen, yes. But notice how both sides have done truly awful things? The show is about people having no other choice but to do what they believe is right. It's war. At a time where two political parties could cause a disastrous election and result in a messy presidential transition, the timing for this episode to air is perfect. I just think that the whole World War II feels is just isn't for you and maybe you'd just prefer a different genre. |

Jesus christ that was one hell of an episode. Sure, the animation for the most part was okay to good-ish but I don't think that takes a single bit away from the development of this episode. This is what we've been building towards so many years; The first act of Eeren's vow to end it all and eradicate them all. It's so twisted and I feel bad for both Eren and Reiner because - very much so - they are both the same, having been raised on lies and deception. I can't wait to see the next episode and the fight that follows :D |

So this must also mean that Warhammer is gonna be 2D as well. But yeah like some people said, a lot of off-model drawings in this episode. I kinda hyped this episode a bit too much, thinking it'll be the best one, sadly we'll have to wait another week. There were like only 3 actual 2D frames/stills of the Attack Titan(the rest being the same stills just with moving hair), the one where he breaks out, the face zoom-in and the last shot with Willy tossed up. The part where actual animation was required to show movement where AT destroys the stage and tosses Willy up was masked with CG smoke and CG Attack Titan. I think they're gonna use 2D only for still shots. They'll probably use CG in the action heavy scenes. Sigh |

kneesweak27 said: Shmeh said: kneesweak27 said: Shmeh said: Those who are complaining about the disappointing OST choices, specifically those who are comparing it to the reddit version, seemingly don't understand one of the main points of music. It's the same problem Star Wars sequels had with "The Force Theme". It may be a cool, recognizable, maybe even nostalgic track, but that doesn't mean it needs to be jammed into every scene it could work in. Soundtracks can have deeper meanings too. This is not to say I think either version sounds bad. Just stop complaining about things out of your control. If you really hate it that much, go watch the scene with different music and stop spreading toxicity. here's my reason of why the OST used was not fitting the last scene, i copied this from my comment in other thread: "because 2Volt has a heroic undertone behind it so definitely doesn't fit, especially when it was used on Levi vs Beast titan which definitely fits considering the Monke obliterated the Survey Corp and the hero Beyblade swoop in like a mf lol. but that last moment on eps 5 was supposed to be tragic, and the music used has to amplify the feeling of terror, fear, or sadness. Considering civilians inside the building died, innocent lives. maybe youseeBIGGIRL has a bombastic undertone behind it, fine then, so Vogel im kafig with faster tempo could maybe fit considering later parts of youseeBIGGIRL is literally an alternate version of Vogel im Kafig, it was used on the very first eps of AoT, how could it not fit considering it's a throw-back eps? (Colossal Titan breached the wall, created chaos = Founding/Attack Titan infiltrated Marley's Internment Zone, created chaos, both individuals have no choice, not even Reiner)" don't mistaken criticism with toxicity, the ones who complained in a rude way are toxic but don't treat them the same as us who criticized with sound reasoning. Obviously if you have some sort of reasoning to back your opinion then there's nothing wrong with saying your preference. I was mainly talking about those that say and put down sh*t with no reason, or that it "wasn't how they envisioned it so it's bad". i see, my bad for assuming first earlier For this scene in particular, while I agree youseebiggirl sounds more epic, I feel the chosen OST displays a quiet sense of horror that fits well with the changes we've seen so far with Eren. This isn't just another big titan attack scene like in S1 or S4 previously, it's the first moment we see the Eren of this time vs the Eren of the past. It's Eren, the "hero", doing what he believes is the right action to take next (we have stuck with the group for 3 seasons so as of right now we still generally see them as the heros). That being said, if youseebiggirl were used instead, I wouldn't complain either. It's a good track and if you don't care about it meaning something other than what's being displayed, then you'll enjoy it too. With enough effort you can always find something wrong with anything, so I'm not here to argue that either is perfect. I respect your opinion of liking youseebiggirl better in this scene but will still say that both OSTs get the point of the scene across. hmm i see, so it's a matter of perspective lol, my POV is that Eren is the enemy now, while your POV see Eren as the one who needs to save Paradis Island after Tybur formed an Military Alliance with other countries, so he has no choice but to attack first. I guess both 2Volt and youseeBIGGIRL/Vogel Im Kafig could fit depending on individuals' point of view when watching the eps. I actually agree that with the time we've spent in the 4 episodes with Falco, Reiner, and crew, we are slowly seeing Eren become the "bad guy" (at least to them). Now Eren is clearly the one taking the action (usually the job of the antagonist/villain) instead of reacting (typically meant for the protagonists). I just like to think that this scene is the transition between the Eren of S1-3 and the Eren of S4. Here's to hoping they use youseebiggirl or some other hype asf track with the same/similar scene at the start of next episode, I've seen some anime do that when conveying different messages from end of an episode vs start of a new one. |

Eren told Reiner that they are the same, Marley has good and bad people, but he still sees them as enemies. Tybur declared the truth of their wrong-doings and asked the whole world to unite against one common evil. It was interesting that he said the people in Paradis just wanted peace, they are just common folk and yet Tybur declares war against not just Eren, but the entire isle of Paradis. I loved all the contrasting words here. Attack Titan looked just full of rage and I was tense the whole episode just waiting for this. I'm so excited for the War Hammer. |

Then it means that this adaption still has hope? I can't believe it. Sigh Don't get your hopes up too much because in the livestream last month, they said that we can expect "SOMETHING NEW" regarding the ODM gear scenes when they were asked about it. They'll most definietely use CG in some way or other for ODM scenes(excluding backgrounds) like use CG human models idk. I could be wrong though. |

Damn I don't even know whether I should be liking this series anymore or not. To me Both people of Each side seems Bad ass people now. At first i thought that the people of Paradis island were good and now it seems like they also were a bad guys like Reiner. Well, I don't care about the statement I made but I really getting hype to see the Ending and getting to see Falco turn in an Armored Titan(Maybe). |
