The direction of this episode was God-tier and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Also, I like how quiet it is here compared to when the first episode aired. People are enjoying the episode, no one is posting 10 threads a minute complaining. Very wholesome energy. Lets keep it.

Do you think '' MironBiron'' gonne like it ?
I would assume so, the direction, character acting, background and OST are all better this episode IMO, and those are the things he will notice. I'll be surprised if he says otherwise.

Didn't expect much since I've read the manga and all I remembered was that it's gonna be a dialogue episode, but damn did I enjoy watching every minute of it. Great atmosphere, made me even more hyped to see the rest animated.

Things that I noticed: Mappa's art style has some sort of low frame fluidity to it. It's not bad, but it definitely different from WIT's style. It almost makes the movements look like CGI. The pacing is also too fast imo, bit I don't think they can slow it down without losing the audience which just want the action.

Thank you for pointing this out. I too notice this.

Absolutely stellar on the directing front. At some points it seemed a bit too ambitious for the staff, but wow, it’s easily some of the best directing in the entire series. Brilliant characters acting too. Would definitely be up for more episodes like this.

I really loved this episode

character animation of this episode was great , feels refreshing and alive...there were many anime original scenes, including an assasination(?) outside Marley HQ (Might just be a suicide attempt) ,
and some extra dialogues in the rail station,

They cut a lot of stuff from ch94 and 95 .....But judging by the preview those scenes specially the flashbacks can be included in the next episode.
A funny interaction between Pieck and Galliard was missing , Marleyans giving vile gazes to the returned Eldian soldiers...and a bunch of other scenes ,so I guess you should wait for the next episode and then read ch93-95 .

It would be nice if you could also point out the positives from this episode, it will make you seem like a more reasonable person and not just someone that only looks for the flaws in the episode, because I could confidently say that Mappa did a better job when it comes to character interaction and just dialogue way better than Wit studio.

Not to mention we would have gotten a lot of stills instead of those rotoscoping scenes, I would rather rotoscoping than still images any day.

Great episode again, really makes me laugh even more @ people who were worried. And lol, finally got to hear "sasuga Piek-san". She's adorable.

full character acting episode huh nice but its rough not enough in-between animation to keep it fluid animation

Pieck best girl i love they drawn her good when she is lying in bed or the couch

next episode seems to have simple average animation again and its Reiner flashback

I agree with this, I notice this as well, kinda bother me but not major, but when subs are out persons will be more focusing on reading it so it wont be that noticeable.

Autists will still notice

Calm down. People can have their own opinions and it's perfectly fine for him to not like it. Besides he hasn't even stated his thoughts on this week's episode yet, so don't jump to such hasty conclusions.

Not saying people cannot have their opinions but miron is heavily biased towards wit he's already lost hope for the final season being as good as wit i don't think he'll change his opinion.

Noticed that too, in particular the meeting at the end seemed shorter, but wasn't really sure until I checked the respective chapter. Gotta admit that it's a bit of a bummer that they left out some of the low profile comedy.

Another thing to add. The music in this episode is way better handled than in the 1st episode. It was incorporated much better. It served as the background score like it should unlike the in your face music of the 1st ep. They really tried too hard in the first ep regarding music. Also, the music just before the episode ended was hype. Hoping to hear more of it in the future eps.

Really well directed episode and I like how they cut chapter 94 into this week’s and next week’s episodes it makes sense for the flow of the story. Animation and art weren't bad at all in this episode. People complain about lack of movement during character interactions when WIT literally had this happen every season and often worse than this.

I re-read chapter 93-94 and the cuts made sense tbh. There was way too much dialogue for a 1:1 adaptation of these 2 chapters.

The rotoscoped scenes really did not look good for me. It's so distracting I don't understand why they would do it. It's also unfortunate they had to cut a few things but that's necessary for pacing.

A bit surprised they cut Pieck being on all four. Guess they're going to minimize humor as much as they can and be more serious. Case being choosing to keep a suicide scene over Pieck being a tease. Would've been awkward seeing a dude offing himself and then laughing with Porco.

I love the look and feel so far. I love what Araki and Wit did but makes me wish MAPPA had been in charge from the get go.

Love the full ending visual with Falco and Gabi. Can't wait for the creditless version.

Pacing seems good, stuff was cut but it was either exposition dialogue or humor that wouldn't have fit the episode a lot

Dunno if somebody wrote it before but the reason why every character was moving like in 15 fps is rotoscoping. To be honest they do not need to experiment with such things. Effects and direction were great , but episode would ve been great if we saw pieck's juicy ass( Overall 1/10 due to this cut...

Man you are one of the few People who enjoy the show and didn't nitpcik or cry like a bitches bc some scenes that are not important for the story were cut. Thank you for always pointing the good things instead of the flaws like everyone. I really enjoyed the episode even if it was only dialogue one. My attention was non stop into the Ep. I really liked the rotoscoped scenes, it ad more movement imo. Overall PURE 10/10 for dialogue episode. Also my opinion is that this point go to MAPPA for how good they make the expressions moved, and the mood they set. For this 2nd episode MAPPA:1-WIT:0

They adapted all of 93 and pages 1-26 of 94 (basically everything except the flashback, maybe those will be added in the next episode). Minor cuts
After that, they moved on to 95 where they made a few more substantial cuts.

Sadly very sloppy movement animations and some weird rotoscoping with Udo at the harbor and Zeke walking up the stairs, also Gabis dinner conversation was one of the weirdest things I've seen visually animated.. if you can't get in to fluid animations Mappa, just give us a frame and be done with it, this sticks out too much for my taste

Damn, if it keeps going like this, I might actually have to give this season my first 10/10 for TV anime series. I'm at a loss for words.

Also, why only very few people talk about the ED? Damn is it so beautiful!

Really loved how Mappa did the characters animation,AoT sure missed those in a dialogue episodes like these. Very ambitious directing and camera movement too,the staff are really going all out. Pacing was good, the cut off flashbacks will be in next ep so there’s that. Another 10/10 episode. Great job,Mappa!

OK! What an episode!
I wasn't around for the first episode's discussion because I was so friggin excited I figured I would be biased as hell. 😅
But now, this episode showed me everything I needed to see to calm my thoughts. @TheCloverfield knocked it out of the park with a well-written, comprehensive post and left me with nothing to talk about. I don't have much else to say other than, supposedly, this is Mappa when pressured with a tight schedule. Now, just imagine. Great job. This is by far the best acting and most ambitious camera work I've seen in AoT.

I actually enjoyed this much more than I did Episode 1.

The VA's were on point, the pacing was excellent, the dialogue between characters was pertinent, the OST fit the tone, and the animation was good.

You really get the sense that the author wants to develop characters, and wants the viewer to see things from "the other side" so that when the shit inevitably hits the fan, you'll be a little more conflicted.

The did cut out some material here and there, but I don't think it's been permanently cut, just shuffled around and should appear in future episodes.
