Arknights it's Finally out! For those who haven't heard of this game, It is a F2P (Mobile) Tower Defense game that seems to have a pretty nice story (or at least it seems). Arknights It's a Chinese game developed by Yostar the same people who made Azur Lane and by seeing how the Japanese community have reacted to Arknights we can say this game it's gonna be as big if not that bigger than Azur Lane. So I created this Thread to see if any of you guys have already played it, and if so, What are your thoughts? Personally I just started playing it and the tutorial it's kinda long but it seems like a nice game and I'm loving the art. In order to play this game you need Android 4.4 aka Kitkat or higher. Also the game has only been released on some countries, depending on your country you may need a VPN in order to Download it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.YoStarEN.Arknights |

I played through the tutorial as well. The art is really good and the game mechanic doesn't feel tedious. The story isn't really striking me as anything special though |

So far it doesn't really appeal to me. I don't really like any of the characters, especially the male ones (get them out of my waifu game REEEEEE) and the story doesn't seem interesting either. The gameplay looks like it could have the potential to be good, but I'm not sure if I fully understand the system yet, so who knows. I think I will continue playing it for now, but I definitely won't be very active on it considering I already play four other gachas... |
What's the difference? |

Been playing it for a couple days and do enjoy it enough to keep playing. Though personal gripe is probably the lackluster looking chibi/battle sprites and unless there will be in the future, the lack of animated/L2D character art/skins. Closure, the shop girl, is pretty nice looking in terms of how animated she is, but it doesn't appear any other units are or get any? Some of their elite2 art looks pretty amazing and would have been even better if they were animated. Probably just gonna play this somewhat casually. Not sure how it is compared to other games yet but read that energy (sanity) can get pretty bad in this game unless you're willing to spend. |

Checked out the waifus in this one and their looks feel uninspired and shallow for the most part, which was expected after Azur Lane. It seems China just can't into character design. |

As an update on my experience. Well I kept playing since Launch and I have to give credit to the Devs for the great content updates and events they have given us, As a total f2p player this game it's great. Also at first I wasn't too invested on the story or characters but Dang later on there are very very good characters like Hellagur, Closure or Hoshiguma. PraiseTheSun123 said: Reviving the thread. Is anybody else playing rn? So far I've been playing for a month or so now. Also just unlocked Schwarz, that's neat. Gratz on Schwartz, I didn't get her but I got Hellagur and he's amazing. |

Started playing after the Grani event was over. Already have a full E2 team now. One of the best gacha I played in a long time, but it's something I play on the side now since only minimal time investment is required daily. |

i got interested after a few friends begged me to play it. it's pretty fun the past 5 days but i'm slowly losing interest since everything moves so slow... maybe i'm just bad at strategy games? i can barely gather any originite prime and the mechanisms are complicated imo |

That being said, the story is really nice, but it kinda gets dragged out. Story-wise, an entire chapter is spent chasing or tracking down 1 enemy boss and inevitably defeating him/her on the last node battle. The few events we’ve had have pretty similar formats where they come with a self-contained story or side story and a map where you defeat enemies on each node with EX levels available. The only different thing in last event was gacha materials rolls. If they reiterate this event format for every event, it’ll become a problem much similar to Azur Lane; however, it can be solved also. Azur Lane seems to be going in a different direction lately by teasing new gameplay mechanics and features that will be incorporated into events most likely. The art in AL is generally better, but Arknights has the better story overall. |

Well Free units are supposed to help players that don't have a good unit of that type, yeah Ceylon isn't as great as most of the other 5 and 6 stars, but you can totally use her if you do not have any other healers already, she gets the job done for sure. |

My issue is I already had shining, ptilopsis, and warfarin. Yesterday I got nightingale, and Gavial is just as viable and free (from shop) as she is. Falmebringer was also forgettable. Grani is the only good event free unit till now, and even she is in a saturated pool of operators vanguard class. I guess those who missed Gavial from shop can find some use in Ceylon. I just got one copy of her for collection sake. |

Thankfully, the next big event, Contingency Contract, will definitely be a step-up from the stuff released on global so far. The maps will have multiple restrictions such as 'no caster operators allowed' or 'only low rarity operators permitted', so this event is geared towards players itching for a challenge. Even really good CN players had a difficult time clearing some of the toughest maps. Seems like a jacked-up challenge mode at first, though the restriction customization feature looks really neat. Also agree about the underwhelming story, though I felt the same about Azur Lane. Honestly for me, Yostar games never had strong writing to begin with since they prioritize gameplay and waifus. Other big gacha I've played like Fate/Grand Order, Girls Frontline, and Granblue Fantasy have superior stories. |

Yeah, Yostar was never great when it came to the story of the games. Unlike FGO which hits the note on both waifus and story, AK and AL lean more towards the waifu side, and the story seems like it’s just there as an icing on the cake. Arknights seems like an improvement over AL when it comes to story, but it still has its own problems to deal with. |

Code of Brawl was a big step up from the last event. Interesting mafia-themed story with Penguin Logistics and challenging ex-maps. The fifth and last ex-maps in particular had my brain wracking. Can't even imagine how tough Contingency Contract will be. |

Shocked how good this game is. Have not had any fun with a phone game in what feels like years, now I'm playing this daily. Wanted to give the game money, but paying seems counterintuitive because the last thing I need is expensive high level operators to get me through a slump. Sanity seems more valuable than anything |

I am getting addicted on this game but my main gripe is the sources of getting more Originum is extremely limited or that is what I feel. I'm almost done on completing operations with challenge mode and it makes me feel helpless of not being able to get more Originum on other operations. I think FGO has more sources of getting SQs but that can be understandable because their gacha rate is shit. Still, it feels like I will not even regret spending money on this game unlike FGO. |

Factory production is the fastest way to accumulate Originium, but the problem is that you will have to sacrifice either your EXP or gold production, which is a big no-no unless you already have a fully stacked team that can handle all future content. Although I agree that this game lacks good sources for premium currency, many Youtubers have proven that every story mission and event (barring Contingency Contract Risk 18 and above) can be cleared with low-level operators with the right strategy. |

Started playing like a month ago. Never played a tower defense game before, but I'm really loving AKs gameplay. Also the character designs are A+++ tho we need more husbandos smh Not gonna lie though I thought the story was boring as hell for the first few chapters. I'm at chapter 5 now and I think it's picking up, and from the spoilers I've read about future chapters it does seem to get better. At the very least I'm loving the villains so far. |

I started playing this game almost recently and I never knew you can get Originium from Factories. I might check that one out. However, I agree that I must prioritize on buffing up my operators first. I am actually fine with being able to clear operations by just using low star operators. However, it is something like in FGO that there are really likable 6 star operators and you want really want to get them for waifu/husbando collection. yaruka said: nice skadi picture. are you trying to farm originium to go hard on a specific banner or something? I started pretty recently as well. The gacha rates are pretty good even as free to play, however I learnt quickly that if you are aiming for a specific operator obviously the chance goes down quite a bit, as even on rate up you still only have 25-50% chance of getting that specific operator if you pull a 6 star. I managed to get blaze on 2 single pulls, but then it took me 70 to get ifrit lol. end of the day it is up to chance but you will still probably get other decent 5/6 stars operators on the way (just make sure you like the other operators that are on the banner otherwise you are burning money lol) also there should be a skadi banner coming up fairly soon based on the chinese banners. if you want to pay a bit then the monthly pass is probably the best value if you log in everyday as you get daily refresh + 200 orundum per day. |

Just save some orondum, at least for 3 to 5, 10 pulls and just wait for a Ch'en banner. Try to always do your dailies and get a strong team ASAP so you can do at least Annihilation 2. Beating Annihilation maps every Week is the primary source of free orondum. Another way to get a unit you want, is by going in the Cert shop, It changes every 2 weeks and different 6 and 5 star operators are available to exchange for Yellow Certs (The ones you get every time you get a new unit). A 6* like Ch'en costs 180 which can be gotten as F2P in about two months. Though we don't know when Ch'en will appear on the shop, it could be next week or in 4 months, there's just no way to know which Units will come to the Shop. Or you can spend your Yellow certs on HeadHunt pulls when the Ch'en banner comes. |

And yeah, I can really tell Skadi is coming up soon and goddamn I did not save any Orundums for her, much less Originium, since I spent all of it for Blaze. I am curious about the monthly pass. If I am correct, it is best to buy it at the very first day of the month right? Buying at the middle of the month feels like there is a $2.5 loss because you missed quite a number of days for Orundums. |

Continue playing the mission you have completed and earn as much as the yellow and blue ticket thing to level up your character? probably try and rank your main crew to elite 1 which will allow you to complete a lot of the content. you need LMD, battle records, and the materials required to elite them. best places to farm are cargo missions and the battle record equivalent (they can get very difficult so you might need to search youtube for a guide for e.g. LS-5). you may not not need to grind them out until you feel you need more firepower as you get a lot of resources just from playing normally |

A banner It's what we call to the Gachas that feature and have rate up to some units. For example if you head on Arknights HeadHunt rn there are two HeadHunts or what we call as Banners, one featuring Blaze and the Other featuring Magallan and Ifrit. So we call the First a Blaze banner and the later Magallan/Ifrit banner. Hope that makes sense. 😅 |

I think that's one of the only problems with this game, there's just no way of getting a specific unit you want. You have to wait until that operator shows up on the Shop or in a Banner. But I guess that's the nature of Gachas in general. |

Chen and Skadi appeared in my events tab for the half year anniversary in a couple days. im on JP server, you may have to wait a little bit longer EN server maybe? check ur notifications thing tomorrow maybe it says that it will be guaranteed 6 star, but u might have to buy the pack I think I will roll on the exusiai, skadi, siege one. I really hope I get exusiai or skadi tho, I really don't need a siege RN tho. skadi would be perfect |

I really hope I get exusiai or skadi tho, I really don't need a siege RN tho. skadi would be perfect I play Arknights on my PC using simulator. Does Google Pay still work on simulator? I prefer payment using redeem code. I bought stuff on emulator. The payment system should be the same. I pay via Paypal which is linked to a visa debit card. I don't see the purbose of using a redeem code if you have access to a card/palpal, however using a redeem codes should still work. I purchased that pack for 2440 yen and got chen. I think eyja is more meta tbh but chen is cool. |

Gorochu said: Why? What's the pros and cons using credit card and redeem code? Sometimes credit card payments don't go through in emulators. Not sure why, but I've faced that issue with several gacha I've played, not just Arknights. If it does, there's no harm in using credit cards. |
