Code Geass and Death Note used to be LV99 Paladin level popular... What happened? Why aren't they being milked?

Recently I was wondering about how huge Nasuverse became, there are so many new titles, F/GO is only getting bigger, new Servants are being introduced, and fanartists are constantly drawing characters, which is a sign relevance...

So, it just made mw wonder why authors of DN, and CG didn't make more main seasons, and turned those IPs into something on Evangelion, or Gundam level?

their creators have the integrity to not make a gacha game out of their franchise..... imagine getting misas and raito yagami and all the letters of the alphabet and an assortment of shinigami on your smartphone game >_>
this is one of the things i like in anime.... less perpetually ongoing franchises

Because the authors finished their stories. They said what they wanted to say and showed what they wanted to show.

『 The truth has power because it’s the truth.
And because it is the truth, that makes it just.
It’s persuasive, isn’t it? Don’t you want truth like that? 』

>Code Geass getting a new season nvm, but it's still getting a reasonable amount of spin-offs and movies of some sort years after the first two seasons aired

>Desu note recently got a new one-shot

You may wanna fact-check your forum ideas,OP!~

Because good authors don't milk their stories.
They tell a good story with a good end and that's that

Well, maybe because some authors don't want to extend the plot too much and milk their series, making gacha games and shit? Hard to believe indeed.

And fortunately they decided not to milk Code Geass, it is bad as it is and I don't know if I want more.

They are. Like, remember when Lelouch died? Oh well, fans loved him so much that the authors made some shit up just to revive him. Now, we got the movie and much likely a third season is up the corner. The same goes for Death Note and some other series.

Even the greatest masterpieces are sometimes defenseless against the time. For example I've been playing lately P3F and it doesn't really hold up to today's standards.

You mean the made up shit that was already in the original anime when nunally saw the flashbacks upon touching lelouches body ?

Something previously observed whenever somebody with a code that was "dying" got touched by somebody ?

(Not happy with the ressurection movie either but the anime pretty much told us that he survived outright)

They were milked tho

After R2 there has been recaps, two alternative versions, the Nunnally in Wonderland ova, the Akito movie series, the third movie which destroyed everything prior, like 3 mangas...

Death Note had a lot of related material in manga, novels and live action formats.

I personally prefer when a self contained story is left alone and not destroyed by pointless milking but whatever.

FGO is so big there's no stopping it. They successfully market their game. NOT regular pc/console game like SAO, but a SMARTPHONE game that people pay into gacha.

Gacha isn't necessarily a bad thing though. If you work and have the money, why not???
Look at Black Desert mobile and desktop, more people are paying into the mobile game.

The game industry already started shifting to mobile app.

Would you want them to be milked? I mean honestly, Death Note even in its original run, was one season longer than it should have been. I think the number of stories that ended way after the author run out of good ideas is roughly equal to that of those who were way too rushed.

Because a story's success is not related to how many spin-offs or how long it can keep going for? And even saying that, the examples you used are still pretty milked as Code Geass had the Akito the Exiled spin-offs that aired all through the 2010s, the recap movies, and the sequel movie to the recaps. And Death Note got a handful of live action movie adaptations spanning across 10 years plus some mild spin-off stuff and a musical. So I mean..... neither's just gone and rested on its laurels. And we're worse off for it.

It's good the authors/producers stopped when they think it's enough.

Much better than being LV 99 Milker.

I dont want to see another series of Code Geass whose MC is Lelouch's son who coincidentally looks like him and named Belouch or Gelouch and have similar plot all over again.

Death Note had a new short recently. There's so much potential with the mechanic of having Death Notes and Shinigamis, I wish for a good dark comedy or parody. But even just milking it like Final Destination would be fine with me.

CG? Meh stay dead. Who even like the new movies, even hardcore fans think they're awful cash grabs. It has no potential for continuation storywise. It would be asspull after asspull.

spoilers in this thread, but lucky I'm not interested in that anime. please use spoiler tag..

death note left a good note for everyone I guess, considering how it's still being recommended to newcomers. I mean I enjoyed the live action movie which is usually inferior to anime. Good story has an ending so I don't mind if they make a spin off instead.

Because "Code Geass" is still LV99. Didn't
the movies come out in the 2010s. Let Lelouch rest and have someone take over as the mc but in the same universe. Like with "Boukoku no Akito".

As for "Death Note", well its been milked to much. Movies (several versions) made both in Japan and America.

With "Death Note" rather than trying to bring it back to life. Japan should aim for making a better "Mystery, Police, Psychological, Thriller".

Unlike the Nasuverse, CG and DN don't have enough big titty waifus to milk indefinitely.

because Jump doesn't wanna make money outta Death Note, they want new stuff, the creators are currently involved in Platinum End, there is a huge fanbase surely but the company opted for a different aproach.

Code Geass had Akito, these 3 new movies and this 4th movie Re:whatever, sunrise wants to make money outta gunpla and love live.

Sunrise apparently has a 10 year plan or something for the Code Geass franchise so it's not going to be going anywhere any time soon. Whether that means more stuff set after Ressurection, endless sidestory mangas, or Gundam-style AU series with new casts, we still don't know. The series has also pretty consistently shown up in assorted crossovers since it came out, including in Super Robot Wars, Another Century's Episode, and the Granblue Fantasy mobage.

Honestly, I'm surprised they haven't made model kits for the grunt suits from the series, but it seems character merch sells better for it than the mecha merch, so I'm not surprised they've mostly stuck to releasing models based on the more notable units.
