| I have more issues with getting epic rarity girls than I do super rares. 100+ cubes used, all of what I had, and didn't get a single U-73. Normally I wouldn't mind since I have 3 weeks but there's an additional achievement for getting all event girls max limit break. Her being a submarine also doesn't help cause I've honestly used subs in less than 10 battles total since their release. Really hoping I wont have to spend money for an epic I'll probably never use in battle. Well on the bright side, I should have Saint Louis unlocked today. |

| Bismarck is definitely my favorite ship and I have wanted her ever since I started playing when the EN server was launched. I've only done like 20 constructions so far and haven't got her yet, but hopefully I will before the event ends. I have a stash of 500 cubes to blow through for her. Also King George is hot af. |

On a note, I pulled KGV (0.5% chance) from build before even pulling Bismarck (2% chance) whom I eventually also pulled from build. Oh and finally got my PR ship a few days ago. | FINALLY constructed Bismarck after like 300 cubes. Amazing how in these games the desire sensor always knows to cockblock you from the character you want the most. Also today is the anniversary of the date she sunk. |

From the recent patch notes they seem to be falling behind in terms of "sync(ing) with the pace of JP server" as promised from the Winter's Crown letter, but I'm not sure if you can call EN servers "straight up garbage" since we are still getting recent (Bismarck, Kizuna) events in sync with JP/CN/KR. Oh but the Android optimization of the game and the joke that is called pvp is garbage. I'll give you that. inb4 someone says "get a better phone", I have tested the game on a S10, Pixel 3, and Essential PH-1 (Snapdragon 855, 845, and 835 respectfully). The game shouldn't be lagging on top-of-the-line SoCs |

| @Reina_Orikasa I've been very ecstatic starting Azur Lane on EN almost a year ago and I still love the game, but EN version is nothing but disappointment to me at this point. Translation of the game is too liberal (as in "free") and infested with memes injected by localization team. Things like "rushing B" or "Clevelad" is unacceptable in my book, I want the them to give me literal translation instead of this. Sure, it's my personal preference, but I believe my experience is hindered by their decision to do so. Also, still no Iris of the Light and the Dark and The Return of the War God on EN, the lack of the later one is especially weird considering how old it is. If time is the issue they could've released them with other events simultaneously, but I personally would prefer waiting for Bismarck's event longer, for example. The way they implement updates seems odd to me, and I would understand it if the game had some kind of poll deciding what kind of new stuff players want to have first, but as far as I know there is no such feature and the decision is on the team. Compared to when I've started playing I can read Japanese a bit now, so navigating through the menus isn't an issue anymore and considering the state of translation on EN servers I'm not missing much from the story anyway. All in all, if it wasn't for all the progress I've already made on EN, I'd start over on JP. What I know is that I won't be supporting this server anymore, which is a shame, considering that the game itself is great as a collecting hobby. |

The memes are mostly a by-product of the devs’ communication with players via discord and twitter since they communicate with players a lot and are aware of the memes. That being said, Azur Lane devs are some of the best out there. They communicate directly with players and always hear them out. No offense really, but I find it quite ungrateful you call EN garbage considering how much the devs spoil players. Remember the whole Winter’s Crown Fiasco. The devs spoil EN so much. The game’s not perfect but far from garbage. Also, don’t worry. I’m sure iris of the light and dark and Return of War god are next up before anniversary cause they’re pretty much the only events left to catch up. |

| Like I've said, I love the game and I'm not calling it garbage. My only issue is with the localizer. I'm a paying customer and my personal preferences is what makes me play and pay in the first place. In this sense I'm privileged to complain about quality of product if I consider it to be insufficient, especially if there are other versions of the same product which are done better. |

It’s fine to have a personal preference, and it’s nice you support the game through payment. I wish I can. However, at the end of the day, the devs will do what they think pleases the majority. For example, you said you would have preferred to wait longer for Bismarck event. On the other hand, I can see that a longer wait probably wouldn’t sit well with many people considering how ultra-hyped people were for Bismarck (prolly since game launched) to the point the servers crashed due to overload when her event came. I heard JP has been stuck in re-run content so EN can catch up. They’re dishing out new events on JP server occasionally (to keep JP pleased). However, Yostar knows EN people won’t like JP having new cool events and being stuck in catching up to JP (I like to call it the “FGO effect”; also you’d be surprised at the amount of self-entitled people who rant “why we’re stuck with this old JP stuff to catch up and they get new cool stuff?”), so they have to give EN the new event content of JP (like Bismarck event and crimson Echoes) while also catching up to JP by running JP’s old events (Winter crown, fallen wings, Divergent chessboard, etc). |

| I see two points to consider here. On the one hand, it's good that they're trying to please the majority of the playerbase, at least from the business perspective. However, waiting for an event for a few weeks or even a month is hardly comparable to the whole year. Secondly, EN does have breaks. In fact, we have one at the moment and they could've added Iris or War God event right now, but they didn't. I'm not sure why, but I can only guess it's to give players time to take a break and accumulate cubes. I don't want to wait even more, though, since I believe I've already waited enough. So in other words, they've been completely ignoring what a small (?) number of players expected to have for months. Let's forget about Iris for the time being and take a look at War God: JP Server: November 23rd - December 7th 2017 Rerun: August 30th - September 13th 2018 2nd Rerun: April 4th - April 18th 2019 CN Server: December 1st - December 11th 2017 Rerun: August 30th - September 13th 2018 2nd Rerun: April 4th - April 18th 2019 KR Server: August 30th - September 13th 2018 Rerun: May 5th - May 16th 2019 It's only natural that these players will get sick of waiting for the things they wanted. Obviously, it includes myself. So to answer why I've used image of a trash can: average AAA game costs around $60, I'd gladly pay this much just to transfer my progress to JP. This is how much I'm displeased by the EN team. |
| As I said, to avoid riots and please most EN players, EN is not only catching up to JP (running old JP stuff/events) but also playing the present new content/events of JP. This requires the re-arrangement of certain events (that are used to catch up) to fit in the present new ones, and unfortunately return of war god event (which you seem to insist on bringing up, idk if Mikasa is your waifu :p) had to be re-arranged, but I’m sure we’ll get to it before anniversary. Personally, it doesn’t annoy me much cause I’m not very excited for Mikasa. |

| Well, if you're interested to know, my favorite shipgirl used to be Atago. I've been following fan art dedicated to her since 2017 and she basically was the one to get me into Azur Lane. As time has passed, however, I've explored more content related to the game and she dropped to my number 3. How powerful shipgirls are in terms of gameplay is of no concern to me, so judging by personality, attractiveness and voice lines I love Akagi and Mikasa the most. |

I like grinding in JRPGs, but I've never played a gacha game, and I likely never will, because there's nothing interesting about them. Also, Azur Lane is a phone game, and I don't play games on my phone. Even strip mahjong on the SFC looks more fun than this gacha stuff. |

| I see you're a PR ships enthusiast, so completing researches must be even more fulfilling to you than to the average player. I like Roon the most out of them, but she has a strong competition from the the regular ships. Are you interested in the second line of the PR ships? The only ones I'm looking forward to are Azuma and Friedrich. And since you like Atago, one of the oldest ships in the game, imagine the following scenario: you've been interested in her since 2017, all this time waiting for Azur Lane English release. Then you've started playing on it as soon as it was possible and almost one year later there's still no sign of her, while all the new content is added to the game ahead of her. Obviously, since this is Atago we're talking about it's unlikely she'd receive such treatment as she's one of the most popular shipgirls, but you still should be able to understand why Mikasa or Hiei fans would be pissed off. I've played all kind of different localized games, so I've been fully expecting lagging behind CN and JP, but never in my wildest dreams I could have imagined that I'd have to wait for Mikasa this long. If they're not going to add her second skin during the original run of the event, it'll be just arbitrariness at this point (we got other content from reruns during the first time the events were added). I'll point out again that this is my personal opinion based on my own experience and unfulfilled expectations. If other players are having a blast with the game, enjoying memes instead of literal translation and loving how events are handled, and based on all of this believe they've treated the best way possible, that's perfectly viable opinion to have. I, however, see no reason to feel grateful to the localizer, since they've failed me as a customer. |

| Honestly my biggest issue with the game is the lack of QA. Updates filled with bugs despite 6+ hours of downtime, UI update with rough edges, etc. I dunno. It feels like the devs don't even play the game. The thing that really annoys me is how the community just happily accept these bugs and issues and claim all games suffer from bad debugging and buggy releases (legit saw this comment on their Twitter). Maybe I'm too used to the PC games and community where we expect the best, but still it's annoying to see these issues come up so often. It's not a bad game by any means but it's nowhere near "perfect" as the fanboys on Twitter and Reddit claim. |

The downtime was extremely long and the game still had lots of bugs afterwards, but instead of warranted criticism I've been mostly seeing messages appreciating their hard work and insults directed at those who criticized them. To me it seemed kinda weird because Azur Lane EN isn't some kind of non-commercial fan project, that's their job and they're getting paid for it. |
| I agree the game is far from perfect. Despite long down times of updates, they end up with bugs which is annoying sometimes. Sometimes the bugs are minor, sometimes they’re major. But I really don’t fault them too much at the end of the day. Their response to bugs is immediate, quick, and on the spot. They always apologize and state they’re working around the clock to fix a bug or issue. That’s what I’ve seen as far as their communication on discord server shows me. Also bugs can sometimes mean apologems, so at least there’s a good side to it on occasions lmao @Tannhauser We got JP’s Re-run versions for Winter’s Crown and Divergent Chessboard. I think it’s safe to say we’ll most likely get re-run version of Mikasa event to catch up. As for second PR line, I love Azuma and Friedrich the most too. |

| I mean, as someone who has played Kancolle before I started this game, I can confidently say that the Azur Lane devs are a thousand times better than the Kancolle ones. In all the gacha games I've played, this game definitely has the best devs in my opinion. |

| My main complaint would be the recent updates introducing massive amounts of grind. First, level cap increase to level 110. Then PR ships. Having two grindy events running simultaneously some weeks ago. Now another level cap increase to level 120. I'd like to build multiple usable fleets since there are so many units I like, but with how long it takes to get even one up and running, I don't see it happening anytime soon... Kisaragi is literally the only thing keeping me from uninstalling the game at this point, because she's best videogame girl of all time. Not that I dislike Azur Lane, but I'm kind of interested in looking for new experiences after having played this for nearly 9 months now, and the constant updates to add massive amounts of grind lately have been putting me off. |

| Since this thread has become a general discussion for Azur Lane, I guess I'll rant here and ask advice from fellow shikikans. Hear me out! I've been grinding 8-2 to get Ikazuchi for about a month and wasted like 30000+ oil but still no sign of her. I'm on the verge of crying and giving up. I didn't have any trouble with Fox Hell (grinding 3-4 for Akagi & Kaga) and I got Inazuma in like, 3 turns? So I guess my luck is backfiring this time. And she's the only one missing from the stage's "Droppable Ships" chart. That's why I want advice from you guys if you have similar experience. Let me ask: - Does Ikazuchi really exist in 8-2? - If yes, is there any underground rule like "You won't get her if you haven't clear chapter 9 yet" for example. I'm currently stuck at 9-3 for story mode. - Should I give up and start doing something more productive like continuing story mode or playing the event? I don't even play the current Jean Bart event because Forbin is the only one I want and I can get her from Event Construction.
