2018's biggest mystery:

where the hell did those soldiers pop up from at the end of the episode ? they definitely did not go up the stairs because okabe was there after getting shot, so he would have noticed or he would have been the first being dealt with, did they climb the building ? in the middle of the fucking day ? did they land there with a heli ? if that's the case did they not hear that heli approaching ? the fuck am i watching man

The soldiers scaled the building. WWIII is erupting, so the time of day doesn't matter.

This episode didn't gave a break after the emotional previous episode.

I wonder how they'll get away with this. Damn, Mayuri won't die right? because they're still in the beta worldline and according to this worldline's attractor field, she still alive in the future.

Suzuha did receive a d mail(or video) leading to a change in worldline . Nobody knoes if mayuri lives on this worldline
But they are still in Beta attractor field, the beta wordline shift is only on divergence, and not on attractor field. So the Beta attractor field won't recognized Mayuri dying in this beta worldline.

I don't think that I am the only one that felt the cliffhanger a little bit unnecesarry, considering how much did that same thing happened the past season, and even in this season when Okabe shifts to the orther worldline.

I think it's just me that feels a little bit tired that every single thing has to revolve around that. Coming from a person that cried from the first time it happened, to the episode 8 of this current Steins;Gate.

I don't know, I don't think Mayuri is dead again, and I don't know why would they try to convince you that it is, that this time is for real, when they already done that.

OTHERWISE this episode was GREAT. The character development from Mayuri, Suzu and Daru felt excelent. Love the fact that in this season all the characters are the driving force that keeps the plot going, it's amazing.

Mayuri's speech was heartwrenching to say the least, I cried during episode 16 due to Maho's and Mayuri's speeches, and now in 17 it gets repeteades when she says who is the one she loves.

I love this series. The action scene was great, you surely gotta love your future soldier best girl,.

I can't praise you enough, thank you for being the one to say it! I've stuck so much time into this already I feel like it would be a waste to quit, but for the life of me I honestly don't understand what all the fuss is about.

There are times when just divergence causes deaths.
Faris's dad is an example. They were in alpha before and after the d mail that made him live was sent(same gors for the dmail that killed him (the undo mail)

So there is no real guarantee that mayuri lives... Unless she is fated to live across all worldlines in beta field, which im sure is not a confirmed fact

Amazing episode. With only 6 episodes left I'm wondering if they'll include a portion of Kurisus ED.

The end credits sorta spoiled the identity of the bike rider.

Fantastic episode, finally delivering on the intensity promised by the fact that WW3 is looming ever closer, with some great and much-needed development for Mayuri to boot. The situation still looks bleak for Suzuha, but given that Kagari has seen Mayuri "die" (I'm not convinced she's actually dead yet, but with an attempt at time travel very close to happening she could well be) things may still change yet.

Gah! Episode 16 was so perfect at drop-kicking you in the feels over and over again, and when I thought this episode would mend that feeling, the drop-kick to the feels came back with a bang. >_<

The final few minutes of the episode was gripping, as Suzuha gave it her all to take down the gunman while trying to give Mayuri a chance to escape. Sadly, she got shot and landed, presumably, in front of Kagari, who just arrived on the scene.

What a way to end the episode there on a brutal cliffhanger. Now I looking forward to seeing how Kagari, and possibly Okabe, will react to seeing Mayuri being gunned down.

In terms of character developmet, this episode was great especially to Suzuha, Mayushi and Daru and Mayushi's speeche was heart wrenching. I give credit to her seiyuu which happens to be the talented Kana Hanazawa for delivering that speech.

That cliffhanger. If Mayushi dies in here, then the Time Leap Machine will finally be used then, right?.

"They hurt Kagari's mama!" - Kagari.

Next episode will be a slaughter.

I can understand why people didn't like the first part of the show but I can't understand why the show's rating keeps dropping even though the past couple weeks we've gotten some really amazing episodes. Call me a fanboy (I am one) but I just can't understand it.

Noooo Mayuri
Here we go again.

Guy tells Suzuha to follow orders or Mayuri gets killed, Suzuha manages to fight back yet the guy holding Mayuri hostage doesn’t pull the trigger the second she comes out shooting. Though I wonder who got shot in that one scene at around 18:10 part of the video. The close were the same as the ones Kagari wore when she attacked Suzuha.

Overall, want next episode to come already, these cliffhangers.

I hope Mayuri isn't dead, because I don't see a way that it wouldn't be a plot hole. The events that Suzuha remembers from the future should be a convergent result.

I liked the scene with Okabe and Suzuha better in the Beta Drama CD

i'm humble man , Mayuri cries i cry
for real
this episode along side with ep 16 was really shocking and emotional
when mayuri break down and confess her love for okabe it really impact me
because they build up for this moment from the first episode in this season
so when they finally did it , it was really meaningful and powerful , because you knew how much mayuri had suffered in silent and how much she really care for okarin , you saw by your own eyes how many times she tried to kept her feelings locked inside her heart , so you knew that she tried so hard to not break down

Mayuri , Daru and Okabe voice actors deserve an hour of non stop clapping for their performance , They really nailed it
i think that those voice actors do really love their characters and have got invested in it

The universe has a beginning, but no end. — Infinite.
The stars too have beginnings, but their own power results in their destruction. — Finite.

That was a matrix kinda scene i actually loved it somehow but the way the soldiers popped out like CS bots being placed was utterly nonsensical just like their bot behaviour getting asswhoped by a single girl with two guns.

Man the stormtrooper aim made me laugh.

Like, Suzuha is barely moving. How bad do you have to be at your job to miss a near-stationary target?

Oh, and the TK-714 Stormtrooper moment and the end.

... is that Daru this Daru? I mean not the Daru that is the father of Suzuha, but the Daru of this beta line, the one that learnt from this Suzuha that he is her father?

especially since people says there are tons of routes being mashed up together and some originals, too.

but he still needs to wait years for it, in which anything could happen in between.
which is why I'm slightly disappointed that the older Daru from the D-Mail is the one from alpha line.
It leaves a hole, it has to rely on the viewers to... over-assume a bit.
or maybe, I should say, has to rely on predetermined facts the first series had told, but the current sequel hasn't tell us.

But at least it still hits on the emotional impact.

And now begins the part where the VN starts to fall apart for me.
Loved the confession from Mayuri, but the gunfight was hillariously bad, and the dialogue isn't nearly as great as last episode.
And how the flying f*ck did Suzuha not realize the 20 soldiers right in front of her?

The well-written script was what made the original so great, and this one started so well, but the ending is just plain bad, no spoiling. Lower your spectations.
2/5 for this one at best.

Wrong, it's the beta Daru from this new world line after Mayuri made the choice to travel with Suzuha. Of course, that Daru also knows Suzuha is his daughter and what she is planning to do.

no no the one under the spoiler, I was talking about the first Steins;Gate, more specifically the anime adaptation of it.

So is it alpha Daru or beta Daru? You guys should settle that out lol
my point was:
if it's alpha Daru who sent the d-mail to Suzuha in this epi, then shit.
if it's beta Daru who sent the d-mail to Suzuha in this epi, then it's good.

Alpha Daru is irrelevant. The whole story of 0 is in the Beta attractor field, except episode 8. Alpha Daru can't send a message to Beta.

What do you mean about the original? There is no hole, the final message is the final step to reach Steins Gate, but there are more things that need to be done first.

there isn't. I didn't say there was any hole. Actually I was praising the first Steins;Gate there in that spoiler.

The seiyuus were amazing but those scenes were kind of awkward, the direction was also very lazy, they had room for so much visual content yet they were for the short route.

Anyhow, the cliffhanger was cheap but I'm fine with it.

To be honest S;G 0 just did some justice to Mayuri finally. Though I'm Makise x Okabe ftw, her confession scene was a great example of character growth (and damn that suberb voice acting). I hope it won't be for naught and she's actually alive in the the next ep.
