| I don't interact a ton with the anime fandom but I know at least in the LGBT+ circles I've lurked in, fujoshi (and fudanshi) are hated because it's seen as fetishizing a marginalized group. They kind of get lumped in as a special "straight guy with a lesbian fetish" type. I've heard stories of gay people getting gross comments from fetishists about wanting to see them make out or getting too intense about how "cute" they find them, including at anime conventions, and it's creepy and crossing a line. I personally don't know how common that is but at the very least I've seen some less-than-great posts and comments of that nature online. Outside of that, people just tend to find fans annoying when they get too intense about a topic, especially if it's one that's not mainstream. This happens with anime fans in general (weeaboos) and fujoshi are just the anime community's subtype of that I think. Media that's popular with those types then gets branded and if you happen to enjoy it as well people sometimes assume you're "one of them". (And to be fair, there's a fair amount of vocal fujoshi in the Black Butler fandom in particular, which makes it an easy target. I enjoy that series as well but these days I wouldn't touch any fan material with a 10 foot pool for fear of the pedofujoshi somehow transmitting their cooties) It's also possible some of it might be linked to homophobia since I see less hate for fudanshi than fujoshi (gay men are usually considered grosser than lesbians), but maybe that's just because it's not quite as big or vocal of a crowd. |

You gave an anime a low score? you will get hate; You gave something a high score? you will get hate; You are an elitist? you will get hate; You are a casual? you will get hate; You talk shit about an anime? you will get hate; You like an anime? you will get hate; You like lolis? you will get hate; You like tsunderes? you will get hate; You like old anime and think new anime is shit? you will get hate; You like new anime and don't want to watch old anime? you will get hate; Anything you do, some part of the community will hate you for it, but I see mostly fujoshis complaining about getting hate, or threads asking why they're hated. So, you and them need to learn that this is the internet and no matter what you do, someone will hate you for it, grow a thicker skin and stop letting words hurt you. |

Okay so I'm also a fujoshi and yes we already get the hate we deserve, but tbh, I'm not that very pushy or too much fangirl on my gay ships unless you count the kiss scenes bc I'm so innocent for the sex part XD and also there are not much fujoshis around me irl. Sure, we can get ahead of it, but I believe it's something that piques our interest a lot. What else . . . Ah, yes, I know people are so self-preserve on their beliefs, but that doesn't mean that you should be close-minded about it. The world is constantly changing so everything around us changes.
