That is rather because the doujinshis can attract people to the original show, which is a win win situation. It's unreasonable to assume that executives are capable of thinking that far. At least in America they mostly can't, and keep using the laws against fan translators. |

On the bad side, gelbooru isn't as well-tagged, and picture quality often suffers. But pixiv is way worse on both parameters. |
| Doujins are just unofficial fanworks, so no. I think technically it's kind of a grey zone but no one really cares. Official works would be a different story That being said, even unofficial works can not portray the original work in a negative light or they might face charges |
