And Gibson takes over America.

Good episode. Though the whole scenario about Goro's goal being lost seemed a little contrived at certain points. But it wasn't that bad, now that I think about it.

Yeah it wasn't bad at all, it's not like it wasn't his goal this whole time, the audience was thoroughly reminded of it throughout the seasons. But that Gibson monologue at the end was pretty cool.

Fucking awesome episode. I just caught up over the last couple of months (saw some other guy in the last thread too, hah). This show is cheesy, but very, very, awesome.

Maaan...ok..was hoping for a goro-shimizu sweeter moment back there..>_<...well,guess he still is a pee brain when it comes to love..:))
Besides that...a very awesome episode.I like Gibson's determination...and i kinda feel sad for Jr.Gibson is still his father and he cares deeply for him.

Nice little speech by Gibson. No matter his condition I have no doubt he will pitch against Japan, which I'm really looking forward to~~

Gibson you da man. That's a bit of a parallel with the current World Baseball Classic. America has kinda fallen under the same scrutiny with players bowing out of it.

Gibson da man. Hope that gives America a wake up call, I really do want to see Gibson vs Goro in the finals despite the heart problem. Although on the other hand, I liked Kaoru's speech as well. I think Goro and Gibson have become too obsessed with the fateful duel and need to think about the real reasons they've been playing a bit more.

Nice, Gibson called them the @#$% out . . . They are claiming the be the "best" but losing. Whether or not they are fighting at full strength is a decision they made, its too convenient to claim they only lost because "they weren't trying" . . .

Realistically, they shouldn't have been able to hold back by now. But they haven't even kissed yet.

Anyways, great episode.

Isn't it extremely disrespectful to ask Gibson not to pitch when it's something he's determined to do and has waited years for? Just let him do what he wants. If he dies, he'll die with honor and without regrets.

Gibson is gonna make the other players play a lot better after telling them that.

That was my favorite GorouxShimizu scene since season one when Gorou taught Shimizu how to catch fly balls while holding her hand. The roles were reversed this time with Shimizu doing the helping, and I liked it just as much.

That conversation has provided enough setup to allow Gibson to not oitch in the finals, but then you remember this is Major we're watching and the OPs spoil the crap out of everything. Haha.

Great speech by Gibson at the end, btw. The American team's attitude here is terrible.

"Realistically" my tail. There are still plenty of people that value saving themselves for marriage, and Gorou has already identified himself with those values in describing himself as "old fashioned".

The american line up consists of a bunch of jerks, they just don't give a fuck.

But I really liked the passion shown by Gibson.

I know, right? But that's how Americans do treat baseball world cups and I cannot really blame them.

Awesome speech from Gibson. I was hoping it closed with Gibson, stating in English, "Boss, give me the fucking ball!" How epic would that have been?

from some reason i thought that they brought too much dept for the simple goro character, shimizu totally right, goro never played toward goal but always thought about winning the best there is for the challenge sake, i understand his goal to beat gibson but his shock seemed little forced.
instead of goro wants to win the game we get gibson in goro's characteristic in the USA team.

Smart move on Junior telling the coach on Gibson's heart problem but telling Goro even with his best intentions is a bit of a d*ck move as he basically pushed the responsibility onto him.

Gibson is da man for giving that wake-up speech to his passionless teammates
