Anyone here read any web comics? Recently I discovered Looking For Group again, I had to say, its been awhile since I laughed so hard.

Richard is just about my favorite web comic character =p He always makes me laugh =p

I also discovered Mega Tokyo, also a pretty good web comic.

Is there any other web comics out there worth mentioning?

Mine is obviously the most superior, as Pattrick said: 'I saw it yesterday and suffice it I laughed my creationism off. [...] have not seen [IRC chatlog humour] before. And I read a looooot of webcomics'

he also said:

'I'm a big fan of obscure humor no one but a select few understand' and that's quite true, various comics assume such things as a working knowledge of Latin, intricate knowledge about black metal, knowledge about the obscurities of anime or all in one.

Also, it has no discernible name.

Cyanide and Happiness are brilliant. Although they're only a few panel standalones.

xkcd, of course. Consistently hilarious and manages not to get terribly repetitive.

I hate Ctrl+Alt+Del though, and for this reason.

It's really using the panel of silence too much, you can basically make the most mundane conversations into comics by using the panel of silence. Same with Cyanide & Happiness, it just uses it too much.

XKCD is also good yes, it's really creative in a lot of its humour. About the youtube reading thing and the geohashing and shit. Darths & Droids is also quite good, both don't really use the 'panel of silence' and the punch line effect and I like that, they are just funny throughout and not per se at the end when the cue is there.

Ctr+Alt+Del also has too many words, and punchlines that are delivered too early in the page (usually the second panel). Which means that more words and/or a panel of silence is in the 3rd and 4th panel.

Mehh, a lot of words are a good thing. Darths & Droids and xkcd show this, the humour of those comics is less based on images and more on dialogue, I like that, sight gags are often just not creative enough.

Things like CAD, Cyanide & Happiness, Megatokyo are simply based too much on sight. Darths & Droids could use less humour that absurdifies Star Trek though because it tends to get repetitive to just point out all the errors in Star Trek, as there are a lot. Same with Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series, a lot of the humour there is just take the original dialogue of 'I'm going to x.' and replace it with: 'I for no adequately explained reason am stupid enough to x instead of just walking away'. But both have their things to make up for that.

I think I point out the logical fallacies of Richard Dawkins out too much too though.

http://www.questionablecontent.net/ is one of my favourite comics. Almost every page has a great punchline. Though none are really standalone; it's a story of the ongoing life of the chars, and really has to be read from the start.

I like to read Ctrl Alt Del and there's this one website I came across called Ansemretort.org which consists of three webcomics:

Ansem's Retort
Easy Skankin'
Apathetic Waffle

All good for a laugh.

I can understand your point about MegaToyko being sight based, but its also amazing to see how the art changes over time, in the beginning it was plain/simple, but he really got good. I have to say, he draws really well now.

But alas, xkcd & thisdomainisirrelevant is a refreshing change :)

Yes, the art is very good. But in xkcd, it shows that creativity still works in bad art. Standard comic humour won't work with bad art. XKCD really has had some creative and original humour.

But alas, xkcd & thisdomainisirrelevant is a refreshing change :)
I really never expected to go on with it when I started it and certainly not that people would read it, I thought it would just be too obscure but apparently more people than I hoped read it seeing the latest visitor's log. I get a new session every 5-10 minutes excluding bots... that's about 200 visits a day.. I never expected that.. I expected that only some friends of mine would read it as it's quite incomprehensionable and very dialogue based and a lot of the subjects are either too obscure, too controversial or assume knowledge about older comics.

I do like my thing of putting black ambient artists into the Trek universe though...

I don't fancy webcomics, but Dresden Codak is goddang amazing. XKCD also suffices.

And of course thisdomainisirrelevant, but it's khorven, so that goes without saying.

IT HAS NO NAME, FUCKHEADS.

God, I specifically did not name it to see if people had complications talking about it. In fact, I hope that one day it'll be popular enough to be on wikipedia to then see them squirm in how to name the article, ahahah.

Wikipedia pretty badly accounts for that some things simply have no name.

I do have to say that Irregular Webcomic is interesting in that it has multiple themes and sets of characters. It says refreshing that way. Traditional punch-line based comics that just feature the same characters the whole time are just boring and trite. Especially if they feature too many panel's of silence. The only exception being Calvin & Hobbes, there's some thing unique to that humour a lot of times.

Also, humour that is not dialogue-based feels like watching friends really.

I like the Calvin & Hobbes idea of that Calvin occasionally says some thing to his parents that can either be interpreted as a child without common sense or a very deep argument against common practices, I like to feature that a lot too.

Also, a lot of comics just feature really common things just put in a new coat like:

Panel 1:
A: This is outrageous, they are going to do x
B: They aren't?
Panel 2:
A: How can they do this?
B says some thing stupid to make it become clear that it misinterpreted it completely
Panel 3:
A stares at B in an awkward silence
Panel 4:
A says some thing, whatever isn't relevant while looking grumpy, like 'I really should have taken this to Alvin...', B just looks in non-understanding

or:

Panel 1:
A: I am adament, I will not do x.
B: Yes you will.
Panel 2:
A: No, never.
B:Yes, actually you will, else I will :insert really awful thing here, like telling the teacher A did whatever:
Panel 3:
AWKWARD SILENCE
Panel 4:
A: I'll better get going.
B: Quite.

It's just repeating the same humour over and over in different contexts, xkcd and Darths & Droids have a style of their own.

I love webcomics~ Here's some I'm reading atm:

Serious ones:

Flipside
Phoenix Requiem
Dreamless (Both this and PR are drawn by Sarah Ellerton, the latter is a commissioned work, both are really great~)
The Meek
Some webcomic who's name I forget by an artist I like. Check back later.

Sorta serious ones:

2Kinds

Not so serious ones:

Ctrl-Alt-Del
VG Cats
Looking for Group (I haven't read this in months, YIKES)

I'm thinking of reading Order of the Stick. It looks kinda epic.

And Dr. McNinja. My brother has been hounding me to read this for months, I haven't gotten around to it. Sad, considering how much I <3 ninjas.

Can any of these "webcomics" be considered as "manga"? Or at the very least, "yonkoma"?

Was thinking of it, but porn fits on any, deluding from the humour. But now I realize I could make it: Big breasted porn / gay porn / tentacle rape, but too late, it's already posted.
