| The new mobile app that launched has sparked my interest in a dark mode since 90% of the time that I'm on this site, I'm sitting in the dark. I think it would be really nice to see an official dark mode on the desktop site and on the mobile app that users could turn on and off in the settings, something that uses dark greys that aren't too dark or too light so that use in low lit situations isn't as strenuous. What do you guys think? Would you also like to see this, or maybe it's already a thing? |

| Merged a bunch of threads on this topic... Implementing a dark theme onto the desktop site is very difficult right now. Since the foundation of MAL was written 10+ years ago when Xinil was still a student, and DeNA is still improving the backend even now, making thematic/visual changes across all pages of the website takes a lot of development time. Case in point: we still don't have a full-width header, despite having a full-width footer. I imagine/hope we'll be able to implement something like this one day, but I'm really not sure when. The goal has never been to try to sell Supporter based on features users must pay to have. | @Kineta Since you mentioned I think they should get rid of that facebook part in the footer. I dont why there are 2 facebook indicators really... Also one eats resource for no reason imo. As for OT I think there should be a colour theme survey to decide one. Dark/grey-MAL blue really looks ugly imo. |

The large Facebook link leads to more page likes than the little Facebook button. I don't much like it either, but it can't be helped. |

If you browse stylish there are many iterations of MAL dark theme. Many just make the white sections black/grey and because of that the blue parts stay. Imo its just ugly. So I think other opinions about the colour combinations are welcome. So yea I was not talking about slider or original colour palette. |

| @Kineta Yeah that's understandable, thanks for replying. Does that mean that there's still a chance it gets added to the mobile app because it's getting built from the ground up? Regarding what Spexey said, I guess a lot of people just have a lingering fear that as a company or group gets bigger, they lose sight of their original goals or standards. Nothing against you guys, just caution from people who have seen seen it happen before. Again, thanks for responding, it means a lot to the community. |

| ^ +1 to the above. Been using userstyles for awhile since I heavily prefer dark themes. Just download Stylish (Or Stylus, a fork of Stylish. It's what actually manages the userstyles) and get your themes from userstyles.org. I personally use Stylus, personal preference. |

| It may not improve MAL, and I know that the developers are very busy. But if it is possible it would be cool to have a night mode in MAL. The white background goes black and the font goes white. The blue and the logo remains untouched. |

I would definitely switch to android just because of the freedom it gives to the user. The second would be a big project because it's basically converting the whole code to Apple compatible, and there maybe other issues which are out of my knowledge. |
