| It's because, assuming you watch from the start, to get your rating to count at all for Gintama Enchousen you have to watch 256 episodes, and Gintama' isn't all that much lower. Nothing else on the entire site comes close to this. Who's going to watch that many episodes of something they don't enjoy? And of course the initial series does better for this than any other high ranked series as well. If you take the average rating rather than the weighted one, Gintama season one is about 50th. Of course doing this only further boosts the advantages of sequels, but no other series in the top 20 sees anywhere near that level of drop. |

| It's awesome so why not? But seriously, it's probably because it's got a smaller fanbase compared to most of the other Top 10 anime. Not to mention that a certain amount of the show needs to be watched (I don't remember how much) for the rating to be counted... and it's pretty long so that's probably why. I personally don't care too much about which of the anime is on top. |
