Yagami Light - more like an anti-hero, he was good developed though 5. Edward Elric - really sympathic, a good MC 6. Kurosaki Ichigo - didn't watch his anime 7. | Oh look, a bunch of young male MC's popular with teenagers. No surprises there. I'm actually sort of surprised Haruhi is on the list. I know the show was popular but I didn't think it would beat out X generic male MC from popular shonen show #37. The cool part is I actually liked Haruhi. The bad part is that she wasn't even the most interesting character in the show. If Kyon had made the list instead of her I might have been impressed. |

| I am not amazed that Lelouch and Light is up there but L is higher than Light, that is unforgivable, L defied Light, Light had pure intentions. I can see L is a smart one and that the battle between Moral and Justice was a great one but in my opinion Light put up a better fight. Well he did have L killed in the end. |

| 1. He is a nice character indeed but I dont' think he deserves the first spot. 2. Eccentric? Yes, like many other genius are. His sense of justice twisted by his pride... come'n, it's ok if you don't like him but you have to accept that he is quite special. 3. Only got to watch the first part of OP (around 11-20eps?) and he didn't seem special at all. 4. He is L plus more twisted mind, I would put both of them in the same position, what makes Death Note awesome are the interactions (direct and indirect) between these two. 5. Paku Romi voicing one of the best shounen characters ever. IMO he is a full developed character (as far as I have watched), the type of people who I would like to be more abundant in RL: people who fights stepping in their own feet, with strong morals and beliefs. 6, 7. Generic shounen heads yay... seriously. 8. Same as Luffy. 9. I haven't watched Gintama, so no comments. 10. The only one of those top ten that I actually have in my personal favorites. She gets LOADS of hate. Many believe she is a little bitch, and maybe it's partially true, but she does have her nice side too, also she is what makes Haruhi Yuuutsu what it's with her energy, hyperactivity and random moments. Plus she is God. My dear Konata barely misses the top 10, she is the best anime otaku ever. She feels so realistic yet she is funny as hell <3 Okarin is another character that barely misses the top 10 that should be there (actually he and Konata are ~100 votes apart from each other and around 900 from the 10th spot). Also Izaya and Hitagi should be higher instead of some shounen MC... My personal favorites are way down in the list, but I understand why, some of them are secondary characters who often are opaqued by the main characters and others are characters that arise many two sided opinions about them. But it's ok, I love them nonetheless. |

| Considering those are very popular shows, it's quite obvious that some or most or maybe even all the characters in there are included. Those who are new to anime or just starting to watch anime will watch those first because of their popularity. Some may like the characters or some will not but most of the time they will love them that's why they are very popular. I don't like most of them but I have no objections since in reality, the masses' choice always win. |
