| Well, whenever a family member enters my room, I have to pause the Anime that I'm watching, and do random stuff, like checking Facebook etc.., I feel embarrassed to watch an Anime in-front of them, not any Anime though, Anime with alot of girls, etc.. for instance, I don't feel embarrassed to watch Naruto, Bleach in-front of them, or any action Anime, however when I was watching When They Cry, I had to pause the Anime, because I felt embarrassed, is there anyone else who is having this problem? if yes, how do you deal with it? |

| honestly yes, but thats for most things i watch, even american TV like dexter or archer i always pause it when someone walks into the room, i just do it without control, i just generally prefer watching things alone without interruption more than anything but i do not want people seeing me watch certain parts of anime. | My wardrobes are filled with anime and comic-books, so I'm pretty 'open' when it comes to my hobby. I've been even walked on while watching hentai a few times, I didn't feel any kind of embarrassment, nor should you. |

| At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it depends, man. Sometimes there's a language barrier or something gets lost in translation and it can get awkward. But considering most of what I watch is pretty user friendly, then no. Not embarrassing at all. It's the same as watching anything else. |

| Only if I'm watching a yuri/shoujo-ai do I get embarrassed. My brother and I used to watch ecchi anime and my parents didn't care lol. My dad thinks anime is dumb but my mom thinks its cute so I don't really care. I only get embarrassed watching anime in public. |
| I don't think i ever had this problem really. I didn't watch like show after show back then so there wasn't really any surprise attacks and it's not like they had any reason to be in my room while i watched anime. But i guess it would have been awkward to watch anime shows at least with my dad (but it's not like he would watch anime in the first place) |
| I don't live at home but we all know about watching movies with your parents, whether it being actually sitting with them or them just checking what you're doing. There's always some awkward sex-scene popping up in no matter what you watch, it feels like. Depending on the anime, there's a big chance some interesting scene will pop up while they walk by, say some forced pantie shot or "fall-to-grope-and-missionary position", if you watch something within that genre. Just pause whatever you watch, because life loves to fuck with you :D |
| I watched FMA;B and Kaichou wa Maid-sama! on Animax in the living room and my family normally doesn't give a damn what I'm doing since I'm mostly always doing something on my computer. They pretty much know I'm watching anime, though they keep telling me to socialise with people. Who the fuck likes to do something as tedious as socialising? | Why would I get embarrased? They do occasionally say stupid comments when they spot me, I usually just ignore people being morons. I don't give two flying cents what their opinion is, about me watching anime. They can say whatever they want, see if i'm paying a slight sign of attention when you are completely irrelevant. |
