Some animes make be cry because of how bad it is...

More seriously, if I'm not very involved in the show itself then there's no chance an anime is going to reduce me to tears. A lot of the plot flow and logical stuff has to be worked out before I can just let my mind stop thinking about everything and focus on what's happening to the characters. There has to be a significant amount of context in the story that can tie it together. And, of course, the scene should remain intact *coughafterstorycough*

My only two 10's weren't tearjerkers though. Though I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said Clannad After Story would have broken the 10-point scale if it didn't end the way it did.

Not really, I've had anime make me cry that I didn't rate 10.
And others that didn't make me cry and did rate 10.

No, if an anime makes me cry it isn't an automatic ten. If I really like then it gets a ten. Though Ano hana did make me cry and it got a 10 but that is only a coincidence. The anime has to draw me in for me to like it. If it just manages to get a few tears out of me because of a heartbreaking moment and nothing else of course it isn't going to get a 10.

If an anime had that kind of emotional impact on me then i would definitely give it a 10. I am yet to cry while watching an anime though.

Well if it really made me cry I would probably give it a high score because it was touching enough to get that reaction out of me but I wouldn't give it a 10 just because of that.

No, epecially if it's in the end. It really ruins it all. But even if it's in the middle, there's still bitter taste.

No, but I will definitely give it a higher score (8-9 range) because you know they did something right for them to be able to tug at your heartstrings and make you feel a personal connection with the characters.

Not an automatic 10, but it is certainly a plus.

I put my shoes almost in to any characters, I make myself feel what they feel.
So...I would give every anime good scores because I can feel what even fake people
feel?

.-.
No. Illogical.

Your logic that if a book makes you cry it's good but if an anime makes you cry it doesn't mean it is is even more illogical.

I don't think it automaticly deserves a ten. But I will rate above average. Angel Beats was very moving but I didn't rate it a ten.

The ability to involve and move me, to "get to me", is a major factor in my personal rating, but something can make me cry and still be weak in other areas so the over all answer is no.
-animeS - The plural of anime is anime. More than one deer is still deer. There is no damn "s".
-epic |ˈepik| noun•a work portraying heroic deeds/adventures covering an long period of time - adjective • heroic/grand in scale or character

I cry very easily, so if I gave 10 to every anime that made me cry, maybe half the anime I've watched would be rated with a 10. xP

But, the anime I've given a 10, made me cry at least once. Probably. x'D

Guilty Crown made me cry at how bad it was even though it had a dream team and a huge budget. Would I give that a 10? No.

So the overall answer is no.
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

Probably, but I tend to cry easily. But I'm pretty sure majority of the shows I've rated tens were because it hit me sentimentally big time.

Stories that capture my heart and make me so emotionally attached (that I reach the point of tears) usually get a 9+ from me. While they may be emotional and touching, they could still have underlying flaws that stop me from giving it a perfect score. Nonetheless, I will still rate an anime pretty high if it makes me cry.

I don't always cry at sad moments in anime...sometimes it just has to be emotionally powerful in other ways. Epic scenes and final battles sometimes get to me if they are really good.

I love shows that can get me emotionally involved though. Most of the shows that have made me cry get at least a 7, more often an 8.

Grave of the Fireflies made me cry, and I gave it a ten because it shook me up emotionally and did actually make me cry. I also thought it was well put together.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 made me cry and stirred up similar feelings but it did not reach the same kind of level the former did. It shocked me even though a lot of people said it was predictable, but while it also made me think, "What would I do in this situation?" there were parts I kind of felt I could gloss over. Grave of the Fireflies made me start to think or feel something in each scene.

I think about rating more than just the waterworks factor; which is extremely rare anyway.

So, the answer is ultimately no.

It will not get a ten from me unless it actually deserves it. Getting to me emotionally is usually a bonus in its favor however.

An anime that made you cry doesn't mean it's totally perfect. A masterpiece isn't only one that can bring you some tears. It has to fullfill other aspects as well. So no, I won't give a 10 to an anime just cause they made me cry. I have shed a tear or 2 in a certain epi of GC but I hate the series xD

So? I'm a guy and I'll admit Angel Beats, the ef series, and Chrono Crusade made me cry. I'm not even really that emotional of a guy either...I was just so moved by those animes.

And the end made me cry like a little kid.

Many things and feelings make me shed tears. A show that can induce a normal reaction in me is hardly a masterpiece by default. I don't give 10s to series that make me yawn, sigh, laugh or scowl either, so why for crying?
