Both. Thankfully language isn't really a barrier in hardcore. J-Core, UK Hardcore, it's all good.

*raises hand* lol is Hardcore the same as gabber/gabba? Or is it just that they are both at the same time enough that it gets confusing? IDK D=

Latin? You mean theres more of music with a dead language or do you mean spanish?

Sorry for the confusion, by Latin I was referring to Gregorian chants or plainchants. Although some might not consider it a music genre considering there's usually no instrumental accompaniment, since I only listen to it for purely pleasure's sake and not in relation to anything spiritual, I put it down. I also enjoy things like faux Latin, or imaginary languages that sound similar to Latin (Era would probably be the best example for this).

Both. :< Fuck that, I've listen to music in many different languages. So I was angry when my mom was nagging about Belanova, and they were good to me and they sing in spanish.

Both. I used to listen to Japanese music exclusively back in High School. These days I'll listen to anything good.

Music is music. I really don't pay attention to lyrics, so I really don't care what language songs are in. For example, Wir sind Helden is one of my favourite bands. Do I speak German? No, but that doesn't stop me from liking their music. I like Takáts Eszter despite my Hungarian being very limited. And how could I like Coldplay if I cared about lyrics?

They are often classified together, and gabber tracks often appear on hardcore albums, but they're easy to tell the difference between. Gabber tracks are obnoxiously fast compared to hardcore, and almost every other genre of music for that matter.

I mostly listen to J-pop, J-rock and anime themes.

Aside form that I still listen to pretty much anything (if someone suggest a song is good I tend to check it out)

Don't listen to rap as much as I used to (which was alot) it seem to have lost it way and has gotten repetitive. But there are some rappers that keep their beats on point. (Ludacris for one)

And for some reason I've been doing nothing but listening to George Micheal (Go to the City) alot.

ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS!

What do you mean by "too much"?..... are you just talking about the cheery cutsy corny stuff? or are you talking about liking japanese music as going too far as liking japanese things like anime goes?

Japanese do intend to have a lot of these over-cheery/cutsy stuff. It's one of the few genres I totally ignore when I'm picking up new Japanese songs. Just can't get over like, 30-year-olds trying to sound like a 8-year-old.

Ever get a feeling that a lot of the emotions show in a lot of Japanese music is contrived and all for show?

Maybe I've just heard about that shame culture stuff for far too long. But their music often seems emotionless.

I love both of them. Well, I like a little bit better the English musics, but as well I love so much the Japanese musics. Their sound is cute, rhythmic, but some lyrics is awful. The English rock bands are incredibly cools, but some singer is very very lame. :)

a healthy mix of both is good, and sometimes not knowing the meaning of the lyrics to japanese songs can be a blessing, considering the uber kawaii composition of some jap verses preaching about love, sunshine & butterflies sung in childishly high pitched voices that simply wouldn't work in english. however, the majority of japanese music is actually pretty good and i have fun just picking random words out of the lyrics that i recognize from anime which makes me feel smart :D

Neither. Norwegian, German and Swedish music > both.

If I HAD to pick, English. Japanese music is for the most part extremely generic other than a few gems like Sigh and Boris.

I think I actually like alot of japanese music because of how it sounds, the lyrics really aren't that important to me, it's the sound. Having said that, I still prefer english music more, probably because I know way more of it, and I can't imagine any kind of hardcore metal from japan (lol, but i'm sure it exists).

Japanese for sure.
It helps me get a feeling with the language, it sounds much more cool and it's very rewarding to understand some things they say in the middle of the song

speaking english (regardless of where it came from) vs speaking japanese, given the nature of this website, the chances of people listening to another language of music is very low.

I like my english music (because I can actually understand wth they are saying) but . . . . Good music can touch those that don't even understand the words or the meanings so non-english, such as japanese, is still pretty great!!

I can't compare English music which is based on instrumental skills (at least the bands I listen) to Japanese one which are more onto lyrics and rhythm... Japanese bands are all trying to have a psychodelic sounds with effected guitars and screams, or they are trying to sound like modern American metalcore and rock bands.. Or are just plain boring..
Just for the record I'm not saying I don't like Japanese music, on the opposite I listen it a lot, just that the majority of bands can be put in categories I stated above..

none of the japanese bands I listen to have screaming or crazy sound effects...but i guess it depends on the bands you listen to...just like english music...under the layer of emo/punk "modern" music is the good stuff...but I listen to spanish rock and JP rock more...

99% of the time I don't listen to the lyrics at all, I don't really know why you need to understand something to like it -_-. Oh well, I just listen to the beat (which is why I like techno a lot).

English. Or rather, American/British/Irish/Australian/some Canadian, because some bands in other countries sing in English as well but that doesn't make their music good.
And Japanese music is mostly crap, especially those generic pop idols and visual kei bands (which are also pop).
