| Grave of the Fireflies and Clannad (more specifically, Clannad: After Story) |
| Even though Natsuyuki Rendezvous turned into shit in the second half of the show, it was still one of the most emotional ones I've seen. I cried a couple of times to it. Clannad itself made my tears come out. Haven't worked my way through AS yet but I will in the future. Ano Hana was sad. Didn't cry though. |
| Obviously, Clannad especially After Story and Angel Beats. Kanon(2006) almost got me only in Makoto's arc. So, related to Key but I don't know about Air since I haven't finished yet. |

| Air → Everything was just based off of sadness. Elfen Lied → That one was just depressing left and right. Grave of the Fireflies → There wasn't even anything to this. It was just depressing for the sake of being depressing. |

| Ef-A Tale of Melodies SPOILER ALERT Just wow...Himura (one of the main characters) has had a tragic life, and in the final episode he is able to let go of the past, gets to meet Yuuko again on the rooftop. Himura was struggling not to blink as he told Yuuko that he would be fine; linking it back their youth where Yuuko said one was lying when they blinked. She put him through a lot throughout the series (she had a messed up life herself) but they really did love eachother in the end, it's a shame, but that's how it goes sadly. This anime was freaking beautiful; I was considering watching it again, but don't really feel like being depressed/crying at the moment lol I consider Clannad After Story to be a better anime, but Ef-A tale of melodies is definitley more sad/depressing. |
