Out of all the anime on your list which ones were the most inspirational?

By inspirational I mean an anime that you have been moved by, had characters that you really wanted to be like, or just motivated you to get off your ass and go do something.

For me it has to be:
-Nodame Cantabile (I play piano)
-Beck (I like long road to "making it big", pretty inspirational)
-One Piece (Makes me want to go on an adventure)

Well, Welcome to the NHK had a character that I absolutely DIDN'T want to be like (amazing show though), does that count? xD Inspiring in a different way. I've been moved by too many anime to count though.

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

inspiring?

Cross Game. Kitamura Kou, despite being the best player, he train harder than anyone else, just looking at him going for his run makes me feel motivated to do some push-up myself.

You sure are recommending this anime a lot, even though seems like it wasn't even good enough to go as one of your fav 5 lol. But I get what you mean. It is kind of inspirational. Well.. it inspires you on how not to live/act.

To get off track a bit, I'd say it's not because it "isn't good enough to make my top 5". I don't think I've ever considered my top as somehow "better" than everything else, they are just my favorites.

Anyway, to get on topic. I'd say Clannad After Story, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Honey and Clover are the first to come to mind.

indeed haha it's not my favorit persé (and i just finished it today) i could also say school days was an inspiration haha (how not to be a sociopath) but welcome to the NHK was just nice to see something from that point of view (depression, paranoia, hikikomoris, neets...) and also because some things i know first hand living with those problems :D

Well I watch a lot of shounens. And like 90% of them have the main character as someone with an unwavering, iron will. So I kinda got used to that and it doesn't inspire me anymore.

Code Geass' ending however, was something different ;)
And so was No.6!

Great use of drama, and superb OST.

I agree 100%. It shows that you can be who you want to be.

Other anime is Golden Boy. "Learn, learn, learn". Well-used knowledge is the key to success. Intelligence is too sexy. : P

Clannad After Story - if you've seen it you know what I mean.

Cross Game - I took up baseball because of this anime.

Gurren Lagann - not all that much but my world certainly was a but more FABULOUS afterwards.

Madoka - Small things but Homura's struggle was pretty insprational. Also I wanted to start running everytime I heard the chorus in the ED.

Geez.. people KEEP saying this!

I guess I really have to see this series! But the art style... ugh.. I know I'm not the only one who "judges a book by its cover" when it comes to anime.

Clannad and Clannad Afterstory - My eyes began to "Sweat"
Angel Beats - Ending was good
Cross Game - If your interested in atleast watching baseball, it inspired me to play
Major - Made by same author for Cross Game, amazing and it made me realize that I should get off my ass and play some baseball. It starts off with a bang with 6 seasons some being slower than others where he goes from childhood to Major League setting off records like a mad man as a pitcher
